Historia
Thousands of years ago, Earth’s terraforming program took to the stars. On the world they called Nod, scientists discovered alien life - but it was their mission to overwrite it with the memory of Earth. Then humanity’s great empire fell, and the program’s decisions were lost to time. Aeons later, humanity and its new spider allies detected fragmentary radio signals between the stars. They dispatched an exploration vessel, hoping to find cousins from old Earth. But those ancient terraformers woke something on Nod better left undisturbed. And it’s been waiting for them.

Awesome story, mediocre narrator
Revisado: 08-30-23
It was really annoying that the nbarrator pronounced cephalopod wrong, it is pronounced ˈsefələpäd not ˈkefələpäd.
I really loved the story. Not just a sequel it explores new ideas.

Historia
Aster lives in the low-deck slums of the HSS Matilda, a space vessel organized much like the antebellum South. For generations the Matilda has ferried the last of humanity to a mythical Promised Land. On its way the ship's leaders have imposed harsh moral restrictions on dark-skinned sharecroppers like Aster, whom they consider to be less than human.

Really unpleasant
Revisado: 03-03-23
I really hope that people in the future are less cruel to eachother than in this story. Profoundly unpleasant to listen to, but not badly written.
Fairly good performance from the narrator.

Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Interesting story and one of the few that I’ve listened to several times.
Murderbot is great protagonist and its inner monologue is a definitely a distinct voice that is different.

Interesting Groundhog Day story, but seen from different perspectives.
I like how the author made each point of view character really distinct, it would have been even better if had been distinct narrators as well.

Historia
Zachary Ying never had many opportunities to learn about his Chinese heritage. His single mom was busy enough making sure they got by, and his schools never taught anything except Western history and myths. So Zack is woefully unprepared when he discovers he was born to host the spirit of the First Emperor of China for a vital mission: sealing the leaking portal to the Chinese underworld before the upcoming Ghost Month blows it wide open. The mission takes an immediate wrong turn when the First Emperor botches his attempt to possess Zack’s body and binds to Zack’s AR gaming headset instead.

Good narration and awesome main character. A bit outside what I usually read, but an interesting story with a lot of facts about China. Neat that it does not equate Chinese people with the Chinese government. Cool that Zachary actually is from a Chinese minority group.

Post apocalyptic version of Simon R. Green’s book Something from the Nightside. Not particularly original and it keeps name dropping the title.

Historia
When the biggest colony ship in human history was sent to settle a paradise world, an accident hurtled it deep into uncharted space. A thousand light years from Earth, with no way home and no way to call for help, the colonists’ only hope for survival was the one barely habitable planet in range, a nightmare world they named Croatoan. Landing on the only five mountain peaks tall enough to rise above the lethal acid clouds, the settlers carved a civilization from the rock.
