Historia
Set in Italy during World War II, this is the story of the incomparable, malingering bombardier Yossarian, a hero who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him. But his real problem is not the enemy - it is his own army, which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service. Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to excuse himself from the perilous missions he's assigned, he'll be in violation of Catch-22.

Revisado: 05-28-24
This was such an informative and delightful book that most of us can relate to at any stage of life! I have to share that I particularly related to it since I am going through similar type situations with my 91-year-old father and before that my recently deceased 91-year-old mother. I have bookmarked pages to refer to from time to time (frankly, that's often),
I am a regular Audible user so I feel confident in saying the Narrator, Cecily Laidman, was excellent on every level and a professional Narrator is key to maintaining one's interest. I am so grateful to the author, Margit Novak, for sharing her personal stories and experiences! I highly recommend this treasure!

Learning about the brave and often invisible women who served in Vietnam Nam!

This book was riveting! I was not aware of the women who served in Vietnam. These women were incredibly brave and were not given the respect they so deserved.

Beautiful story about coming to grips with death
Revisado: 02-22-24
The main character, Clover, who was a death Doula became very knowledgeable about death since she had had experience as a young child, losing both her parents and then moving in with her grandfather as a
young girl. As a death doula, Clover knew how to help the dying and their loved ones say goodbye and process their grief, but she hadn't learned to experience a full and rich life for herself. All that changed in meeting Claudia and Hugo.

Historia
Pearl Tull is nearing the end of her life but not of her memory. It was a Sunday night in 1944 when her husband left the little row house on Baltimore's Calvert Street, abandoning Pearl to raise their three children alone: Jenny, high-spirited and determined, nurturing to strangers but distant to those she loves; the older son, Cody, a wild and incorrigible youth possessed by the lure of power and money; and sweet, clumsy Ezra, Pearl's favorite, who never stops yearning for the perfect family that could never be his own. Now Pearl and her three grown children have gathered....

Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant
Revisado: 12-15-22
This book did not disappoint! It was an intriguing journey as the author, Anne Tyler, took the reader through a family abandoned by their father. Each family member dealt with their unspoken grief uniquely, which is true for most families. The matriarch of the family chose to not to address her grief or acknowledge her children's loss. Powerful story!
