Historia
A bachelor auction. I was in an f-ing bachelor auction. I wasn’t a cow. A bull, definitely. When the ladies started to bid, it was looking rough. Until she placed the winning bid. The one I wanted. The woman who’d kneed me in the balls the other day. Yeah, I was hot for a woman who wanted nothing to do with me. I was a guy obsessed. She might be the teacher, but she was going to learn she was all mine - and I wasn’t letting her go.

BORING narrator, so-so story
Revisado: 08-10-24
I love a spicy story, which the description promises. If a great narrator like Andi Arndt had narrated this story, it would have been much more tolerable. I may have been able to write a story this good, if given the chance. But with this narrator, it was a chore to get through. I will not be listening to the rest of the series.

Hot story, lukewarm narrator
Revisado: 05-04-24
I’m not sure why the same narrator reads all of this author’s books, but I think she needs to change it up. She writes hot, steamy, naughty stories, and has a VERY boring narrator. She doesn’t pause at the correct spots to get the intended effect, she sounds almost exactly the same no matter what character she is reading (thank goodness there are some accents in some of her books). The steamy scenes are written hit and delivered like a grammar teacher.
If she gets a different narrator, I’ll buy more of her books. How hard is it to hire a male narrator to read the male parts?!?! Where’s Teddy Hamilton or Shane East when you need them?!?!

Historia
The year 1996 was the one that changed everything for Maggie Dawes. Sent away at 16 to live with an aunt she barely knew in Ocracoke, a remote village on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, she could think only of the friends and family she left behind...until she met Bryce Trickett, one of the few teenagers on the island. Handsome, genuine, and newly admitted to West Point, Bryce showed her how much there was to love about the wind-swept beach town - and introduced her to photography, a passion that would define the rest of her life. By 2019, Maggie is a renowned travel photographer.

I loved The Notebook, so I took a chance that this book would be similar. I can’t explain how much emotions it evoked in me, I felt empathy, sadness, joy, and the love between the characters. A MUST READ!

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

So Many Emotions in One Book!
Revisado: 07-02-22
From worry to disappointment to hopeful to squealing with joy: the female character AND myself! I really connected with her!
Great book, and now I’m looking forward to reading other stories from this author.
