I couldn't tell if I was me or...
Revisado: 01-08-25
If you liked this book, please disregard my review. This review is for those who want my honest opinion on the book. I have no opinion on whether the book is a worthwhile purchase.
I think the narrator was fine, other than not really adding to much life to the book they didn't sound horrible or have an annoying voice.
As for the book, I can't bring myself to even give it another listening. It was long, confusing, and boring. The plot was so interesting, but the follow-through just wasn't there. I can't tell if it's just me and I'm stupid that's why I was unable to follow this story, but it reminded me of a Wattpad story that no one edited for clarity.

Historia
I have a history of picking the wrong guy. Gay? Player? Momma's boy? Check, check and check. Now I can't stop fantasizing about one of the customers at the coffee shop I work at between classes. It's just a harmless crush, right? It's not like I ever see this guy outside of the coffee shop. It's not like I'm going to see him while attempting to get birth control at the student clinic. While wearing a paper gown. While sitting on an exam table. Because he's the doctor. Shoot. Me.

it comes across like a 50 shades book almost, it's erotica not a romance in my opinion. perhaps we we could have gotten more of a perspective of the male protagonist than I think I would have liked it alot more. The relationship isn't very professional doctor/ patient and it's not very realistic. the narrator is great though.

what a read
Revisado: 02-25-21
I have to say I did not like this book I am a fan of this writer I've read a few of her paranormal romances but this book did not feel very cohesive to me I did read it as a standalone so I did not read the first book and I will not read the next book in the storyline. there were elements in this book that were good parts that made me laugh or made me smile but most of it was a wash I wish that there were more chemistry between the characters and the storyline had greater substance. I do not want to spoil the story for you but I have to think that if you like extremely sappy lifetime movies you will like this book I however am not a fan of lifetime movies and while I love romance and romance novels the tropes in this novel we're just a little overdone and went too far.

this book was written like a bedtime story
Revisado: 01-15-21
this would not be a bad thing if in fact I wanted to read a bedtime story however when I pick up romance novels I intend to read them as though I am peeking through this person's life it should be fulfilling but not boring. this story however was told in a long journey detailed way however it was not fulfilling and was quite boring it includes a marriage decree and untimely deaths of minor characters and the mystical walleyed child I like Scottish Highlander romances that keep you on the edge of your seat storyline-wise and provide you interesting vivacious characters that you want to know more about. this book had a great plot line and mildly even interesting characters but the follow-through was not interesting enough to hold ones attention. if you would like a good long breed about a woman and a man who threw terms of loss and finding themselves come to love each other this is a great story for you. however I think I have spoiled myself with Lindsay sands and Hannah Howell novels.

Historia
Being raised by my abusive stepfather forced me to look outside my home for a male role model. I didn't have to go far to find one. My freshman year in high school, Percy "P-Nut" Welsh moved next door. A patched member of SoCal's notorious Filthy F--kers MC, he was an easy man to admire and befriend. He was respectful, kind, and intelligent. We soon became close friends, and that friendship lasted long after I graduated. As I grew older, my feelings for him changed, but I chose to keep my thoughts to myself.

could have been better
Revisado: 10-15-19
I have never read this writer before and was excited to read the story line I don't really like books that deal with too much violence like my romance sweet and sappy and this seemed to fit the bill however the characters were a little underdeveloped and information was thrown in without need. There was a lot of repeating such as the main male character had trust issues and the main female character had daddy issues. there was a lot of fist-bumping you have been forewarned. This wasn't the worst book I've read I was just underwhelmed. I've got to read it with the romance escape package and didn't spend any real money on it.

Historia
After a decade of serving in the Army, everyone still expects me to be Dominic "Nicky" Costigan, the skirt-chasing player. They don't know I've been spending my days trying to figure out my post-military life. Including how to pick up guys. When I meet Luke on a hookup app, he makes it clear it's for one night only. That's fine with me, because I'm down to see what this silver fox can do. But after I arrive at his doorstep, it doesn't take long to realize we have serious chemistry, and we end up meeting again.

I love this book!
Revisado: 09-24-18
This book is great! I'm going to take if for a spin a third time. It reminds me why I love gay romance ( i only read homosexual male romance nothing against any other orientation I just love gay romance more than almost heterosexual romance). I like the vulnerability shown in nicky through the book. I like the way the relationship sort of just falls in to place. Its pretty realistic to modern times though not still with the romance magic that makes everything seem slightly better and easier and impractical. The meet on grinder hook up get hooked on each other though the main hero ( I cant remember his name) balks completely at that and their lives begin to mesh. Now! I will say this some of this books communication is done through the gringer app. So when they are texting though the app every time it will use the screen name (not actually screen names only example) ex spoken aloud: bakrgurl: hi how are you. Deliboy: I'm good just got off work. Bakrgurl:that's cool you want to hang out later. Bakrgurl:sorry forgot you had class today. Bakrgurl: how about Friday. Deliboy: lol sounds good. That's how the writer wrote it that's how the narrator reads it. Anyway I like the character development especially of nicky it has hot sex balanced by a great storyline and if you can make it through the narrators accent (which is bad but you wont notice an hour in you'll enjoy this one

its a struggle but i like it
Revisado: 09-04-18
***SPOILERSSSSSS***
*not a review on the story just my personal opinion feel free to skip*
*listening to a story that is told by a teenager, for teens. don't get me wrong I was there not so long ago the struggle is not in the story or the narration its in yourself when you want to shake these kids and go " trust me high school isn't the end of the world stick it out you find out life is still pretty crappy but not as bad as it seems". *
Ahhh to be 17 or 18 and popular and a senior to have your whole life ahead of you. Sam is vapid, a bitch (like really all of her friends are you roll your eyes through half the book) and young. but its ok because driving home drunk one day she and all of her friends die and she has to live the same day over and over. while I enjoy books where the main character has to learn from their mistakes and very much enjoyed this book. I hate it when they die at the end. Death is the easy way out living is hard if Sam would have lived and had to struggle to connect her old life with the changed person shed become that would have made an interesting story. it would have given the writer a chance to flesh out her characters because from where I'm standing I hate everyone except for kent, sam, and the little sisters in the story. Even Juliet their all selfish self-absorbed and think that their pain is the only one that matters. it does have cursing references marijuana and sex but if your 15 and older you know about that stuff even if you're not doing it ****so to all the freaking out parents if your kid not already doing that stuff reading it in a book ( at least not this one) probably won't get them started.*** overall the movie was pretty close and a pleasant read.

not amazing bit not bad
Revisado: 08-28-18
I think the problem with this story is that it's not long enough
if these character's were not fleshed out enough but the narrator pushes you along. I find some of the plot a little out of the ordinary like I dont think its possible that two guys whom are obviously very attracted to one another and physically touch in a way that would be classified as gay as the story pans out ( I dont mean bro hugging I mean kisses on the forehead or stroking each others hands even lap headrests show me a straight male adult who's willing to hold another man's head in his lap!!) not fool around at least once in like 5 -10 years. anyway the rest of the writing is pretty smooth. until we get to the sex the after like 3 easter eggs about DS (DS=dominat/submisive relationship) 2 are in a full blown DS relationship.( and their relationship was a little foot fettishey) the sex happens in like 2 hrs left of the book so if your like me and read some books with sex then HEA in mind you may be disappointed. over all the story was heartfelt and the narrator made the book. (sorry for all the rambling)
