This one caught me by surprise…
Revisado: 04-02-23
This is definitely not my usual style or genre of book, I'm not really sure how I ended up with it in my library to be honest. However, I couldn't find anything else. Interesting so I decided to give it a chance, and this turned out to be a really fun read. There's suspense there's surprises, but most of all it's about women coming together and winning! It's a fun read.

Historia
The beautiful young woman is perfectly still, curled up in the trunk of the car, her long dark hair hiding her face. Her cotton blouse has ridden up a little, revealing two small dots an inch apart on her back. Just like the others. Guilt has kept FBI Agent Tori Hunter away from her home in Manchester Bay, Minnesota for 20 years, ever since her twin sister disappeared on the Fourth of July, when the girls should have been together. But when she receives an anonymous newspaper clipping about another missing girl, Genevieve, Tori is dragged back to the past.

Historia
Vowing to make a fresh start, Sarah McAdams has come home to renovate the old Victorian mansion where she grew up. Her daughters, Jade and Gracie, aren’t impressed by the rundown property on the shores of Oregon’s wild Columbia River. As soon as they pull up the isolated drive, Sarah, too, is beset by uneasy memories - of her cold, distant mother, of the half-sister who vanished without a trace, and of a long-ago night when Sarah was found on the widow’s walk, feverish and delirious.

Revisado: 12-22-21
Honestly, I didn't think it could be done! But this is one of the best books I think I have ever listen to! There were so many layers to the story and each one of them just as exciting as dispensable as the previous. How she managed to put a sci-fi story with a murder mystery story and make it all work is beyond me! This was an amazing book all around.

Meh....
Revisado: 10-26-21
It was written very well it's just not the kind of story I enjoy. I had googled what other authors what I like if I love Karen slaughter and this is one of the books that came up. They had a hard time paying attention to the first six hours because to me it was just a lot of storyline building but the last 1 to 2 hours I really did enjoy! I will have preferred more details about the Actual time spent captive over boring details about their life that really lead nowhere. Again please don't get me wrong this is a very well written book it just wasn't for me. I always feel terrible writing any sort of negative review because I am at all with an authors ability to create a story, something I could never do. It just wasn't my speed I am more into the details of the crimes and the fight and struggle and I do really like a female hero

Purplish bruising seen on Chrissie's upper arms makes Jenna believe there is more to Chrissie's death than others suspected, and she soon finds herself following the trail of the student's last few moments, leading her to the scene of a party that had ended just hours before Chrissie's body was found.

Full disclosure… I have not finished the book yet. I have really enjoyed the series but this book tops them all! From the narration to the storyline I find myself yelling at Jenna and cane… Although there is a murder or murders to be solved… I find this book to be more about the action and suspense! Has had my heart racing literally… Multiple times!

Great story bad narrator match
Revisado: 07-30-21
You NEED to hire Kathleen Early! PLEASE! Your stories are amazing but the narrator keeps ruining them. For this story it was just not a good match at all! True narrator is good just not for this story! The hint of Irish accent does not match the Cowboys story. But the story is so good that I am doing my best to look past it! It's a fight though! I listen to Kathleen Early Karen slaughter's entire Will Trent series and it was so good I completed the entire series in one month. Then I listened to another author read by the same narrator in the story it was terrible but I was still into it because of the narrator. So you take your amazing stories and combined them with her amazing and you are golden! If you choose a different narrator at least make sure they don't have an accent for this series because as far as I can tell it is set in America. And try to keep the same narrator because it makes the series so much more addicting. It's easy to take a break between Books and go to another author when you didn't like the narrator. But your stories are amazing probably the best so far in my opinion.

Historia
Ugly Girls, at its core, is about the friendship between two girls, Perry and Baby Girl, and how that friendship descends into chaos, taking their world and the identities they hold dear with it. Their friendship is woven from the threads of never-ending dares and the struggle with power; their loyalty, something they attend to like a pet but forget to feed. Ugliness is something they trade between themselves, one ugly on the outside and one on the inside.

Let down....
Revisado: 07-17-21
I purchased this book because Kathleen early was the narrator and so far I've loved anything she has narrated by this book or at least the storyline definitely came up short! I don't really think there ever was a plot… And it ended abruptly… I'm laughing kind of confused and lost… The whole time I was waiting for the story to peek so when it ended it literally left me yelling "WHAT?"
