Sweet story with loveably characters
Revisado: 03-22-25
Romance with all the feels but non of the smut. Wholesome read. Melissa’s books would make the funnest movies. Her characters are deep and the stories are not overly cheese. Such a sweet read.

Successful screenwriter Finn Masters just landed his dream job writing for Neighbors, one of Hollywood's highest-rated, longest-running sitcoms. The only downside? It will put him back in proximity of the show’s universally adored, optimistic, altruistic star, Lavender Rhodes, who has been inadvertently ruining his life since they were school chums in England. But she doesn't even know she destroyed his acting career and wrecked his relationship with the love of his life.

Feel good- loved the characters
Revisado: 04-24-24
Funny, lighthearted and entertaining. Not exactly what I expected but very cute. I truly enjoyed the characters. I would recommend to anyone looking for a sweet book. Very much in line with Melissa’s style if you like her others.

Simple and a bit boring
Revisado: 05-02-23
Nothing fundamentally wrong with the book just didn’t have much plot. It wasn’t particularly funny or sad. Somewhat mediocre. My sister recommended for that “NewYork in the fall” kinda vibe. I think if someone was a really big dog person they might enjoy this more.

Historia
Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

A bit long at first and first narration sounded a bit canned
Revisado: 12-20-22
Over all good story. I don’t know if it would be one I would recommend to a friend but it was ok. The first half of the book was a bit annoying. The narrative seem canned and a bit awkward. I couldn’t tell if it was the writing or the narrator at first but the second half was better with the new narrator.
Overall it was pretty good:)

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Slightly long winded and a bit anti-God
Revisado: 09-01-22
Overall I liked the character tho she wasn’t the warmest personality. Her unapologetic tendencies could be irritating and a bit unrealistic.
The book seemed to make anyone who believed in God to be foolish and to lack any real character. Pro atheist.
Not a lighthearted book for laughing. Seems it was one bad thing after another but overall I did enjoy the book and story. Not sure I would recommend it to others tho.

Historia
It is a perfect July morning, and Elle, a 50-year-old happily married mother of three, awakens at “The Paper Palace” - the family summer place she has visited every summer of her life. But this morning is different: Last night, Elle and her oldest friend, Jonas, crept out the back door into the darkness and had sex with each other for the first time, all while their spouses chatted away inside. Now, Elle will have to decide between the life she has made with her genuinely beloved husband and the life she always imagined she would have had with her childhood love.

A little sad and leaves you wanting…
Revisado: 08-11-21
The book was well written and did keep me entertained but it’s over all sad and a bit depressing. The realistic aspect of the book is desirable but overall just not inspiring or happy. The sexual abuse was a bit much for me so if you are sensitive to this you may want to pass on this book.
Overall I did enjoy the characters and the book was well put together.

Fun read, girl wins over hardship
Revisado: 02-26-20
Great read, loved the empowerment along with the overall characters. A few tears were shed. Clean book but not juvenile. Would be a wonderful book to read/listen to with my daughter if she was a little older. Kept my interest the whole time.

Not a romance but a sweet story.
Revisado: 11-18-19
I was a little dissatisfied that it wasn’t a true romance. However, it was a sweet story that kept me interested. Short and sweet. I would define it as fiction.
