Within its strong atmosphere of reality, fiction intertwines with known facts of the time. This novel is a study in the strength of interaction between individuals of the same family or group, and explores stress and loyalty in the face of hostile odds.

Why would a Swede write an American Western?

A horse has hooves, not "feet". The bartop in a saloon isn't called a "bar table". Many cattle together is a herd, not a "pack". Most obviously wrong is calling the sheriff's deputy a "vice sheriff". Jeeze, man, who were you writing for? Certainly not an American audience.
