Apparently, someone tipped off the Sino-Koreans, because the moment his team lands they find themselves under attack. Separated from his men, he discovers the source of the disturbance, and witnesses the release of an ancient, alien power. Mech 3: Best Mech Yet
Revisado: 06-13-20
A story about a man and his mech. Every book in the Rade Galaal series gets better and better. James Patrick Cronin does a magnificent job of narration, outdoing himself and matching the previous books in vigour, perfectly acting all the characters. You will run the gamut of emotions as you listen and read (and I did both at the same time): laugh, be sad, be happy, be excited, be enthralled. I honestly thoroughly enjoyed this series. Can’t wait for the next book!

Another Home Run for Isaac Hooke & James P. Cronin
Revisado: 06-13-20
*no spoilers herein this* I've been reading Isaac Hooke’s books since the very first one came out years ago. I'm never disappointed in the slightest. His books are always extremely well written and well researched. I read and listened to this book at the same time, as I’ve done for the Argonauts series, Star Warrior, and the other series. I enjoy reading them because while they are clearly fiction they contain enough nonfiction elements to make it seem like yea, ok, this could maybe happen. I realized maybe halfway through book 2 that this series also has multiple deeper meanings, which had me reading through the rest of the book looking for more than just what is on the surface. I sincerely hope that others pick up on this too. I love that this author can turn his feelings and things that are going on in his life and create a story out of them and use it to reach out to others who may be in a similar situation. And that the narrator can put such emotion and passion breathing life into the characters. Make sure to read the Author's short story “Salvage” at the link in the end of the book. Buy this book, you won't be disappointed. Can't wait for book #3.

Historia
Rade Galaal and his team of special operators are deployed to a colony under attack by a strange new alien race. Their mission: find the extraterrestrial base and destroy it. The operation should be easy, given that his men pilot Brigand mechs: massive, 25-foot-tall war machines armed to the teeth with electrolasers, rockets, incendiary throwers, and more. But it's not easy. Rade and his team soon find themselves in over their heads. Surrounded by an entire world of enraged aliens, they must rely on their wits, their training, and their mechs to survive.

Mech The Ultimate Mech Book
Revisado: 06-13-20
I bought this to finish my collection of Rade Galaal books and Audible audio. I bought this, along with Mech 2, and 3, because I have both read and listened to the complete ATLAS, Alien War, Captain’s Crucible, and Argonauts series. Nothing beats reading and listening at the same time. This is the first book in the Mech series, and with it comes some of the best plot twists yet. Mech brings us a shocking sub-plot which involves the Nemesis, the Anarchist, and Rade’s MOTH platoon, as well as a new love interest for Rade, as some of the exciting happenings brought to life. And it all started with ATLAS, the kind of book you find in Sci Fi Fandom’s classic collections. Some of the best creators, author Isaac Hooke and narrator James Patrick Cronin, have brought their ideas to life with this book/audible combo, and it must have been difficult for Isaac Hooke to pick what would eventually end up in the book. I love and appreciate the stories and adventures and ideas that go into these Rade Galaal books. If you bought any of the Rade Galaal books, buy this to finish your collection. Recommended.

Every Book Better & Better: Fighter the Best Yet
Revisado: 04-27-20
The adventure continues in a great way. I loved how Isaac Hooke improves on and touches other fantasy genres spread throughout, everything from Greek Mythology, to Tolkien, to Dungeons & Dragons. Luke Daniels is a stellar voice talent. This dynamic duo of writer & voice actor is not only destined for great things, they have already achieved them with this series. Not only this series, but also the Rade Galaal Argonauts series. For best results, read along while listening… it’s a great ride better than a movie.

Historia
Malem's back, and he's free of Vorgon and all things demon. It's time to enjoy the fruits of his labor. His newly acquired army is building a city for him and his companions in the forest. He hasn't figured out how he's going to pay his soldiers, but he's confident things will work out. He has a few princesses and queens serving on his personal advisory board, after all, and they have some experience in nation building (among other special talents). He also has a couple of new women who've recently joined his team, and they need to be brought up to speed in more ways than one.

With great writing, and great acting, it’s no wonder this is up for being optioned. I couldn’t put Monster Breaker Book 4: Emperor down until I made it straight through. I read and listened to the book at the same time. Incredible acting from Luke Daniels with the ethereal writing of Isaac Hooke is a combo made in Fantasy heaven . Every single character Luke Daniels acts has a different voice. Amazing. Incredible twist at the end. A magickal rompin’ good time.

Historia
The Darkness has taken Malem. The Breaker fights for Vorgon now. But that doesn’t mean Malem is going to let anyone harm the five women he’s bound to. They give him the power to control monsters, after all. Besides, they’re super hot. Vorgon doesn’t like the devotion Malem shows his women, so the evil demon decides to send him on a fool’s errand - his mission is to infiltrate the kingdom of the Tree Elves and Break their queen. No easy task, given that she is surrounded by an army of bloodthirsty fighters and merciless mages, not to mention a crapload of monsters.

Brilliant, I read & listened to this one at the same time, straight through over a few days at home
Revisado: 03-31-20
Malem is Broken by the Balor, Vorgon, in this book, and he struggles against his will and the forces of evil. Malem running a progress from the Breaker to becoming the Defiler is reminiscent me of Warcraft III, in which the Paladin becomes a Death Knight. Definitely some twists and conflicts as Malem deals with being forced to be something, which he is not by nature. I read this one straight through over a few days at home!

Conqueror: Monster Breaker 2 has an incredible twist ending that you won't believe.
Revisado: 03-02-20
It's well known that the Monster Breaker series was originally meant to finish in 2 books, but it did so well that Isaac Hooke expanded it into a full blown series. I couldn't stop reading this. Yes, I read it; while simultaneously listening to the Audible narration by Luke Daniels. Try it; it's better than a movie. Blown Away.

Malem is a breaker. He breaks the minds of beasts, exerting the steel vise of his will over their own, bending them to his wishes. His ability is severely limited in terms of the types of creatures he can control and how many. Most monsters have always been beyond him. And then one day he accidentally breaks a monster girl. Doors begin to open for him faster than he thought possible.

Monster Breaker Book One: Breaker: Great Fun
Revisado: 02-08-20
This is better than Wheel of Time or Game of Thrones. I’ll say it again, this is better than Wheel of Time or Game of Thrones. (I realized that, Wheel of Time is a harem book, though it’s not advertised. Harem books are popular, and I see why.) I read Monster Girl Book One: Breaker and followed along listening to the audio at the same, and was completely enthralled. Mark your calendar down to finish the entire series in a row, then read The Sword (in the same world) after. It’s perfect, both the voice acting by Luke Daniels, and Isaac Hooke in his writing. It’s really that good.

Unable to obtain clearance from the local authorities, Rade and his team must sneak inside the city and quietly capture the rogue without alerting law enforcement. The operation won’t be easy. The city’s security forces have drones and mechs watching on every street corner, and the alien fugitive himself is known for his cunning, resourcefulness, and cruelty.

Bugs Sprayed!
Revisado: 10-28-19
Each book better than the last. Book 9 of this series is another fantastic romp in space. Impeccable narrator Luke Daniels and genius author Isaac Hooke are a dynamic duo, a match that perfectly complement each other. All the characters are well developed, and that development is reflected just so in Luke Daniels’ portrayal of them. I especially liked the greasy voice of Snakeoils’ ship’s AI, Maggot. This book is not to be missed, and lets keep our fingers crossed for book 10 of the series to come out!

Historia
Kaeden is a nomad who lives life on his own terms. He prefers the unbounded steppe over a cramped city, and allegiance to the sword over fealty to a king. When he does make the occasional foray into civilization, it is to procure cold mead, a hot bath, and a good woman. The latter preferably for an hour or less. Life is great, until his wanderings bring him to a forest inhabited by nightmares. There, trapped beneath those lightless eaves, he is forced to ally with a mysterious woman whose cunning and beauty could prove to be his downfall.

Incredible Voice Acting by Austin Rising, Incredible Story by Isaac Hooke
Revisado: 10-26-19
Unquestionably the best audio book I’ve ever listened to, and I’ve listened to a lot. What makes it different? Each and every character in the book has a completely unique voice, as if there are different actors. It’s uncanny how Austin Rising can change his voice to create the gamut ranging from the strong and noble Kaeden who follows his own code, to completely realistic human female characters, commanding English accents for kings and sorcerers, roguish voices for bandits, to even guttural-sounding monster voices, you name it. The story, on the other hand, feels short, and yet it’s a long book. You won’t want to stop reading, Isaac Hooke keeps you guessing and wanting more and more. Definitely worth listening to!
