Historia
Fourteen-year-old Ozzy lives near Portland, Oregon, and is desperate for help. His scientist parents have been kidnapped after discovering a formula that enables mind control. Their work was so top secret that Ozzy is afraid to go to the police, but without help, he fears he'll never find his parents. Then he stumbles across a classified ad in the local newspaper that says "Wizard for Hire. Call 555-SPEL." Ozzy has read about wizards in books like Harry Potter, but wizards couldn't exist today, could they? After Ozzy meets the wizard Labyrinth - a.k.a. Rin - he's even more skeptical.

Not sure why this is so popular
Revisado: 04-14-23
Gave off Beauty and the Beast vibes. Story line was jumbled and lacking. Once you're over halfway through the book the story line loops around to explain itself. Characters and their descriptions are creative, but that's it.

No one survived the last battle unscathed. Flint is angry at the world, Jaxon is turning into something I don't recognize, and Hudson has put up a wall I'm not sure I'll ever break through. Now war is coming, and we're not ready. We're going to need an army to have any hope of winning. But first, there are questions about my ancestors that need answers. Answers that might just reveal who the real monster is among us. And that's saying something in a world filled with bloodthirsty vampires, immortal gargoyles, and an ancient battle between two gods.

The overall series is good.
Revisado: 02-24-22
Very difficult to finish this book when the previous books in the series were so good. This book tried to keep up with them, but fell short. Constantly repeating itself and using bad grammar. Loved the overall book series though. Very pure hearted and a wonderful supernatural story line.

What?
Revisado: 09-21-21
I could not make myself finish this book. The voices and performances are wonderful, but the overall story is boring. Everything is so long and drawn out and even with the voice actors I could not get into the story line. There are several instances where the characters repeat themselves or what is happening. It's just boring and not necessary.

I've never encountered a book quite like this one. The sex is great, but it's the development of the characters and each of their stories that makes this book unforgettable. They each have secrets that make the plot thicken and come together. Really liked the authors notes at the end too.

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

Historia
This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of Underland, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers - precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.
