excellent courtroom drama

exactly what I was looking for. pick this listen up if you are craving a detailed, logic puzzle-style court room thriller, heavy on actual court room scenes. love the main character and her family and love the focus on solving the case inside the courtroom.

not a courtroom drama

I guess "don't judge a book by its title" applies here. This story is an action/thriller...it doesn't matter at all that the main character is a lawyer. I was looking for a courtroom drama, but that aside, all could be forgiven if this action story weren't ultimately sooo dull. I just couldn't pay attention long enough to care about or keep track of the various characters and their roles.

Beautiful Storytelling

glorious addition to a glorious collection. there is always a fear when something iconic gets built upon that the addition will destroy the lore or compromise the integrity of the whole, but haymitch's tale is like perfectly curated art pieces accenting the grand hall that is the hunger games stories. I was moved to tears more than once being introduced to the generation before Katniss and Peeta, and certainly the "Easter eggs" for fans are always a thrill and not in short supply. I loved every second of "Sunrise on the Reaping."

from the day I finished Mockingjay, I always declared I would only be interested in more books if it was haymitch's story....but of course "the ballad of songbirds and snakes" proved me quite wrong there...and now that I have haymitch's story, I do think Susan Collins could produce a lovely novel about the covey or tell us more about lonore dove and I would be as engrossed and moved by her characters.

intriguing, but repetitive

loved "the good place?"

this is such a fun fantasy satire. it reminded me of "the good place" television show. I could see this story being dramatized for the screen and would definitely watch.

this was an easy listen through my day. I was entertained, but not to the point of distraction. it is always fun to consider conspiracies and time travel. the full cast and dramatization were well done. like playing a movie in the background of cleaning and errands. will probably listen again when I can pay more attention to all the nuances.

Ultimately, quite dull and not especially thought provoking or inspiring. A very long way around to make a point about one particular social injustice and inequity. While the point is valid and always deserves a platform, this particular presentation was over-wrought and certainly lost my interest by the time anything came to a head.
