Historia
A year ago, on the land’s biggest stage, Sable’s voice nearly burned down the carefully constructed lies of the Kalesh Empire. Now, Sable’s skills are merely tools in High Prioress Vivaine’s desperate negotiations with the new Kalesh ambassador, who’s denounced Sable as a zabat. A rebel. A firestarter. Sable would love nothing more than to burn down the empire. But with threats against her sisters looming, the acting troupe driven away, and no news of Reese for a year, she’s too chained and alone to even light a spark.

This reader never disappoints
Revisado: 09-21-22
Kate Reading did not write this book, but she just about made the book come alive with her rendition. Her innovative characterization of each of the people in the book, make it a story that you should want to read just to see what she did. However, this book could stand on its own, as a very good And well written fantasy. I love stories with different characters who have extremely different personalities. None of these people are the same and yet they are all human and have important lessons for us all to learn. I also like books with a moral, and this book is full of them all the way through it one character after another, the sister, who doesn’t want to be told what to do, the sister, who wants to live her life in peace, and share her own idea of goodness, the sister, who wants to take care of everyone, those are the three sisters that are the family, then there are the prioresses, the one who is greedy, the one who seeks power, and the one who just wants to be herself, Human with all her fears. It’s amazing, but thank you J A Andrews, for writing something that is different, but similar, and that is a fantasy with very good plot, twists and turns. There’s a hero, heroin, lots of bad people, and, of course, the Phoenix, she is fabulous! Read the book, if you don’t like it, audible, will allow you to return it, but give it a shot! It’s worth every minute of the read.

For one thing, his predecessor has been murdered...Buck has inherited an unsolved homicide, a house that may well be haunted, and a police department that is almost certainly corrupt. It falls to Buck to free an innocent man and bring the former police chief’s killer to justice while wading through the quagmire of incompetence and dishonesty that permeates his office.

I'm not sure what Ms. Ball was thinking?
Revisado: 01-04-22
Aside from the fact that the narrator made Buck sound like he was in a perpetual state of exhaustion, It seems that this book tried to go in on making everyone break all the rules of the small town community. Not a good beginning and I'll be getting my credit back to see if she keeps the Raine Stockton series true to itsbackground and small town norms. People change, but good grief! Aside from the character of Buck already having the morals of a tom cat, running to a community with just as many if not more issues than his previous one doesn't seem to be an answer.

Excellent narrator brings the story to life
Revisado: 07-17-21
The fifth of six parts to an excellent character development. This book was great! I am not a teenager, nor am I a young adult, but I don’t think you need to be to enjoy this book. Ben Hale has outdone himself. I have read several compilations of groups of his works in this particular creative world. I am reminded of one of my favorite authors in a similar world creation, Raymond E. Feist. So in my opinion, this is one of the highest commendations. I love the different characters and the strong female presents. As with any good world building, strong women do not mean they are perfect, they just mean they are there and ever present lending their skills and interaction to the whole scenario. Thank you Mr. Hale.

Revisado: 01-31-21
I love these books… I have read such authors as Ludlm, All of Clancy‘s, and this is a much better read. It is complex without being overbearing, human without losing the complexity, and just plain awesome. Thank you sir for a great book. Read it in a weekend, really, you need to start getting epic, maybe 30 hours, we need longer books LOL

Another intriguing offering from Michael Weisshart
Revisado: 07-19-20
I love this book. So many times we get used to an author, his style and flow give an expectation to the narrative. However, Michael Wisehart never disappoints with his attention to detail and his surprises around every bend. This is the third installment that I have read in the Street Rats series, and I couldn’t put it down. Of course, Tim’s reading always gives life to characters, I don’t care which author he reads for. It is even more interesting as he reads two series that are running at the same time, one of which is for “adults” and the other for “teens and young adults” . As for the genre designation, adults will enjoy either series. The Street Rats series gives extra color and development of characters that appear also in the Alderon series.

Given to me by my Son for Mother's Day
Revisado: 05-04-20
I can't say enough about this book. From the narration to the story, it keeps your attention and your emotions enthralled from beginning to end. I am a blind woman with my third Seeing Eye Guide Dog...I am no stranger to the amazing loyalty, work, and the pain of loss of your heart companion. My sons have both served with honor in the Navy. You can imagine my anticipation when my son, Jack, gave me this book, and he insisted he needed to give it to me early for Mother‘s Day. This book was written from the heart, soul and mind of someone who loved his dog, respected his dog's purpose, and who remains throughout torn between the two worlds of being "Dad" for Cairo and the Navy SEAL handler of a ferocious military weapon. This is a tremendous reading experience...truthful, painful, joyful and just "real" I think Will telling the story of his dedication and determination to become a Navy SEAL makes the story even more poignant. Thanks Will for your sharing of this personal and revealing piece of your life. From a proud Navy mom, I want to not only thank you for your service, but also for the service of your gone but never forgotten canine partner, Cairo!

Revisado: 04-08-20
Well worth your credit. I don't normally like intense war fiction, and this is mixed up with suburban railroad life and intense Iraq. Loyalty and love, hate and betrayal, they are all here with a believable group of characters who are human and real...Love the narrator, she is believable, too.

first time the story redeemed the reader
Revisado: 03-11-20
This was a wonderful story! The brave history of this young woman and her rejection by some of the other women or at least the petty women in the group is normal human behavior and was well identified and characterized. However, I can’t imagine how great it would’ve been had the guy been able to read women’s voices without making them all sound like elderly Crohn’s about to give up the ghost. I realize that readers have their place, and he read the men’s voice is just fine, but his reading of women’s voices just couldn’t get there. Even the children’s voices sounded awful. Would love to Finish this series, hopefully with a better reader.

Revisado: 10-16-19
This book has all of the amazing hallmarks of Mr. Wisehart’s tremendous authorship. I have never been so frustrated as watching some of these people get themselves into trouble because you always think they should know better. It’s what makes them, regardless of their magic, so very human and so very real. This is a read that most of Michael’s fans will not be able to put down until the end. When did he say the next Book was coming out?
