Historia
Secrets told in the church ladies' room are supposed to stay in the ladies' room. But that doesn't mean that what Trudy overhears there during her great-aunt Gertrude's funeral won't change the rest of her life. Trudy has a daughter in the middle of a major rebellion, a two-timing husband who has been cheating for their entire married life, and a mother with Alzheimer's residing in the local nursing home.

Laughed Out Loud!
Revisado: 07-27-17
If you have 'been there, done that' you will understand this book. If you have had a less than fortunate marriage and have moved on, you will appreciate the funnier side of getting over and getting on with life. Loved this book. This book made me laugh out loud as I related to what the main character was dealing with. Written with wit and a touch of 'getting even' humor, I couldn't stop listening. Loved it! Also loved the fact that it was clean--without the bad language and explicit sex that seems to be everywhere these days.

Isaac Bell Again Delights
Revisado: 05-07-16
The Isaac Bell series is my favorite of all the Clive Cussler books. Although 'The Race' was not my absolute favorite of the Isaac Bell books, it was still totally entertaining.

Unbelievable Story Line
Revisado: 05-07-16
I finished this book just because I was doing busy work and could casually listen. I thought the story was silly and not at all believable. The narrator's voices were overdone and, at times, irritating. If you want something to listen to while doing mindless tasks, this might be OK, but there are better books out there for light easy listening.

Historia
The first time violinist Julia Ansdell picked up the "Incendio Waltz" in a darkened antique shop in Rome, she knew it was a strikingly unusual composition. The minor key and complex feverish arpeggios have a life of their own. But when she plays the piece, Julia blacks out and awakens to find her small daughter implicated in acts of surprising violence. When she travels to Venice to find the previous owner of the music, she uncovers a heart-stoppingly dark secret....

Not a Light Hearted Read
Revisado: 05-07-16
This is a dark and sad story. I found it worth listening to, but at times emotionally difficult to get through. It is a fascinating story of how the past influences the present, but if you are looking for an upbeat, feel good story, this is not the one for you. It is well written and well narrated, but having lived in Berlin, Germany when the wall was still up, I related very strongly to the suffering that went on in WWII.

Historia
It's 1998, and for years the old First Bank of Cleveland has sat abandoned, perfectly preserved, its secrets only speculated on by the outside world. Twenty years before, amid strange staff disappearances and allegations of fraud, panicked investors sold Cleveland's largest bank in the middle of the night, locking out customers and employees and thwarting a looming federal investigation. In the confusion that followed, the keys to the vault's safe-deposit boxes were lost.

Couldn't Stop Listening
Revisado: 11-03-15
What did you like best about this story?
This story captured my attention from the beginning and kept my interest because I knew that the two story lines would intersect; I just didn't know when or how.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I don't know if you would call this extreme, but I made the mistake of listening to it when I lay down at night and I couldn't fall asleep because I got too engrossed.
Any additional comments?
I can't wait for more from this author.

So Good You Can Almost Smell the Coffee
Revisado: 05-02-15
If you could sum up A Brew to a Kill in three words, what would they be?
Storyline, characters, coffee. What's not to love?
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plots for all of the coffee house books are fun to follow. These plots are not complicated, but are not totally obvious. There are enough twists and secondary plot lines to keep you completed interested.
Have you listened to any of Rebecca Gibel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I love her narration. I have only listened to her in this series, but would definitely check her out with other authors. The narrator can make or break a story. She does great voices without being overdone. She does both male & female, young & old extremely well.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes. When the motive for the blackmail committed by one of the murder victims was made known.
Any additional comments?
I do not care for foul language or graphic sex scenes or gratuitous violence. I know this does not bother a lot of people, but it does bother me. I enjoy this series because it is entertaining, has plenty of action, love stories as well as mysteries, but it is clean.

David Baldacci-one of my favorites
Revisado: 01-03-15
What did you love best about The Escape?
This is the third book in this series. Please listen to all three. I pretty much like anything by David Baldacci and the John Puller series is no different.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
No, but it was very enjoyable. There were some twists that I did not see coming.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
My husband & I listened to this on a long road trip and it made the miles fly by.
Any additional comments?

Revisado: 01-03-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have listened to all of the Goldy series and many of them twice. This is one of my favorite series ever. My husband has listened to them and it is one of his favorites also.
What about Barbara Rosenblat’s performance did you like?
Anything Barbara Rosenblat does is worth trying. She is the best narrator I have ever heard-and I listen to a lot!! I will sometimes choose an unknown author just because she is narrating.

What did you like best about The Cat, the Wife and the Weapon? What did you like least?
I have listened to several of "The Cat..." books. If you enjoy light, clean entertainment, you will probably enjoy these stories. I enjoy these when I am doing busy work, etc. Not deep, but fun. Cat lovers will relate even more.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
I like this narrator and think her voice works well for this series.

Don't waste your time. Terrible narrator.
Revisado: 01-03-15
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
The story line was so-so, but the narration was awful. The narrator tried to do voices, but over exaggerated each one until it was irritating instead of interesting.
What was most disappointing about Elaine Orr’s story?
The story was run of the mill, but might have been OK with a different narrator.
Would you be willing to try another one of Christy Lynn’s performances?
No. I will check all future audio selections. If Christy Lynn is narrating, I will pass.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Relief when it was finally over.
Any additional comments?
This was my first time to listen to this author & narrator, and I will not choose either again.
