The Author is a typical PhD being a cartoonish Pedantic unaware of his childish self promotion but the information proved to overcome any raw unnoticed embarrassment of the writer. Good information.

Dry narrator Dry Story overall couldn't finish it.
Revisado: 03-20-25
The story might've worked with a better narrator and yet the orphanage used as a contrast with an assassin was phony.

The world has fallen. Without warning, a mysterious and omnipotent force has claimed the planet for their own. There are no negotiations, no demands, no reasons given for their actions. All they have is a message: humanity has thirty days to reach the one place on Earth where they will be allowed to exist…Antarctica.

The narrator was horrible.
Revisado: 09-30-24
I couldn't get past the beginning few chapters because of the near sobbing tone of the narrator - this is awful and my next move is to delete it from my library - this might be the story being told by a teenage girl not a medical student studying to be a Dr. with dog dreams of being heroic. Worst audible experience in my library.

Historia
Most of us have instinctive evidence the world is ending - balmy December days, face-to-face conversation replaced with heads-to-screens zomboidism, a world at constant war, a political system in disarray. We hear some myths and lies so frequently that they feel like truths: Civilization is humankind’s greatest accomplishment. Progress is undeniable. Count your blessings. You’re lucky to be alive here and now. Civilized to Death counters the idea that progress is inherently good, arguing that the "progress" defining our age is analogous to an advancing disease.

The absolute need of the author?
Revisado: 08-30-24
The absolute need the author has to find everything and anything that he finds might be wrong with humans having accomplished the goal of being capable of understanding the chemistry of the universe - we are as Isaac Asimov characterized as 'matter contemplating itself' and if and when our planet is destroyed by the inquisitive minds of our species the universe has been appraised and appreciated for what it is - without an observer the universe is just atoms clumped together in emptiness... read Brian Greene and forget Christopher Ryan. Blah!

Historia
The media often suggest that Russia poses the greatest threat to America's national security, but the real danger lies farther east. While those in power have been distracted and disorderly, China has waged a six-front war on America's economy, military, diplomacy, technology, education, and infrastructure - and they're winning. It's almost too late to undo the shocking, though nearly invisible, victories of the Chinese. In Stealth War, retired Air Force Brigadier General Robert Spalding reveals China's motives and secret attacks on the West.

Historia
When Amos Decker is called to South Florida to investigate a double homicide, the case appears straightforward: A federal judge and her bodyguard have been found dead, the judge’s face sporting a blindfold with two eye holes crudely cut out, a clear sign that she’d made one too many enemies over her years on the bench. What at first seems cut and dry is anything but: Not only did the judge have more enemies than Decker can count—from violent gang members, drug dealers, and smugglers to a resentful ex-husband—but the bodyguard presents additional conundrums that muddy the waters even further.

Many Americans are finally waking up to the alarming reality of China's stealth war on the United States and puzzling over how to push back against its insidious infiltration. What few realize is that we have one real advantage in this war: the Chinese Communist Party strategy for total war has been written out in Unrestricted Warfare, the Chinese book, well known there, that has become their new Art of War. In War Without Rules, retired Air Force Brigadier General Rob Spalding takes Americans inside Unrestricted Warfare.

Riske is a freelance industrial spy who, despite his job title, lives a mostly quiet life above his auto garage in central London. He has avoided big, messy jobs - until now. Hidden within a stolen briefcase is a secret letter that could upend the balance of power in the Western world. The Russians have already killed in an attempt to get it back.
