A Heroine’s Triumph & Magic's Whisper
Revisado: 12-15-24
The debut of this series was nothing short of fabulous, offering an emotional and heart-wrenching narrative that promises a happily ever after, ensuring that the villains will get their comeuppance for their heinous acts. Tasmin Garvie's remarkable resilience is a beacon as she confronts her past's traumas. By her side is Thane MacQuarie, the resolute chieftain of Clan MacQuarie, whose nurturing and protective traits are pivotal to her recovery. His steadfast leadership and support lay the groundwork for Tasmin's rebirth, rendering their romance profoundly moving.
The story skillfully juxtaposes the villains' dark malevolence with the satisfying warmth of retribution. The playful mischief of the children, laced with subtle hints of Fae magic, weaves a captivating spell of whimsy throughout the tale. The romance between Tasmin and Thane emerges as a testament to hope and enduring strength. Paul Woodson's narration is absolutely the best - I loved the book when I read it, but is was twice as good listening to Paul act the characters & tell the story!

Lost Then Found and Beginning a New Wonderful Life
Revisado: 12-05-22
I think I have read or listened to all of this author's books and every time I finish a new one, I say, "it's the best one yet" and yes, I'm saying it again. I felt like I was living there with all the characters, as she writes with such a flair and makes me see things in my mind as if they were real. The story had so many things that drew me in; cruel man, forced marriage, revenge, greed, treason, and lies but wonderful things also happened with new beginnings, finding love, discovering new friends and meeting gracious neighbors. I love Paul Woodson's voice and he always pulls me into whatever book he is narrating. He is one of a few that can hold my interest and my mind doesn't wander when he is telling the story - definitely one of the very best narrators! I highly recommend this clean, romantic, well-written book - it will leave you smiling and happy that you listened to the wonderful narration by Paul Woodson!

It’s called the curse of Black Isle. Worse, as heir to the chieftain, now Marcas must be both leader and savior to his people - but they are losing faith in him. Already there are murmurs that his poor decisions brought the curse, causing him to doubt his own ability to head the clan. Wonderful Couple & a Great Story
Revisado: 06-21-21
I had previously read this book & loved it but listening to Paul Woodson's soothing voice added a new dimension! His performance made me laugh out loud a couple of time & I also require a tissue to dry my eyes. I laughed, cried, sighed & then cried again but the treacherous road to happiness was finally found. I loved visiting with past characters (not necessary to read the previous books), Logan & Gwynie & others. There is nothing worse than finding out you have kidnapped former Crown spies & Highland legends, Logan & Gwyneth Ramsay's daughter, Brigid. Laird Marcas Matheson took Brigid for, what he thought, were the right reasons but not all things are as they seem to be. I highly recommend this to all historical romance readers if you enjoy action, romance, danger, family love & a HEA.

Dreams of love are all well and good, but all Prunella Chuffington-Smythe wants is to publish her novel. Marriage at the price of her independence is something she will not consider...Robert Adolphus, The Duke of Bedwin, is in no hurry to marry, he’s done it once and repeating that disaster is the last thing he desires...Surely showing the man she’s not actually the meek little wallflower he is looking for should be enough to put paid to his intentions? When Prue is dared by her friends to do something drastic, it seems the perfect opportunity to kill two birds.

Hero or Villain - A Great Couple
Revisado: 02-06-21
I have read this entire series & loved it. I had the opportunity to win a copy of the audible & I loved Phillip Battley's narration - he put so much into all the characters & made the story so enjoyable.
Ten wallflowers find a group friendship & form a book club - these girls come to be wallflower from man situations; new money (trade business), scandals, bluestockings etc. but everyone of them vows to change the way their life is now & have their dreams come true.. They each write "dares", place them in a hat and each of the 10 will draw a dare - will they succeed, anything will and does happen.
Prunella Chuffington-Smythe has only one goal her mind and that is to become a published author that would give her money and freedom to get away from her aunt and to rent a cottage of her own in the country. After growing up with a father who beat her mother, she wants nothing to do with marriage and becoming property owned by her husband. She has already had some success writing under a false name in The Lady’s Weekly Review.
Robert Adolphus, The Duke of Bedwin, really doesn't want to marry but knows his responsibility of providing s heir to the dukedom. He had already been in a disastrous marriage that ended up in the death of his beautiful, scandalous, loose harlot wife and the dark reputation and scandal that followed her death has not been forgotten by the ton. Robert needs to find a sensible, sweet, dull wife who will not bring any scandal or trouble to the marriage.
This takes us to Robert and Prue finding common ground. Robert goes to his uncle for advise on finding a wife with the qualities he needs as his duchess. His uncle has just the lady - Prue (he and Prue live in the same small town in the country) - the only problem, as he explains to Robert, she has an aversion to marriage. Prue does not understand the sudden interest from the dark, brooding, evil duke and has to find a way to be rid of him. Then the dare - Prue draws from the hat "dance in the garden at midnight". Let the fun begin.

A Wonderful Second Chance
Revisado: 05-21-20
First off, the narration on this book was fantastic! I knew Tim Campbell would be his "swoon worthy" self in the characters voices & he lived up to my expectations & beyond. I was very impressed with Desireé Ketchum - she did a fabulous presentation & I enjoyed her voices of the characters immensely.
I had read Cocky Bastard by Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland and this was a mirror of the book in different centuries. Cocky Bastard was from the 21st Century & Annabelle Anders' Cocky Duke takes place in 1823 Regency England.
The first half of the book is given in Ambrosia Bloomington's (Aubrey) point of view. She is kind, non-confrontational & a lovely young widow on her way to begin in new life in London. She has inherited a townhouse in Mayfair & enough yearly allowance to be self sufficient. Her biggest worry is establishing herself in society.
Chance Bateman gives his side of the book in the second half. He is a handsome, cocky, hilarious man that finds humor in life but he hides many secrets & responsibilities from the outside world. He is travelling to his home for his 30th birthday party but it is obviously not a happy occasion for him.
Due to many unforeseen problems, Aubrey & Chance are thrown together to travel across the country together with her driver & the wonderful little rescued dog, Mr. Dog. I felt all the emotions possible between this couple - I went from laughing out loud to having my heart ache, in the space of a few pages. I highly recommend this book to all romance readers - Annabelle Anders has created the perfect couple to complete the perfect story & I will remember this book for a long time.

A New Generation
Revisado: 08-13-18
What a great book & what a beginning to a new series "The Band of Cousins"! I can't wait to see the younger generation grow to maturity after being raised by the Grant & Ramsey clan leaders. Maggie & Will were such a super couple & I loved their story along with all the action & suspense. Can't say enough - Keira does it again & I am looking forward to Book 2 in this series!

Different but wonderful plot!
Revisado: 08-13-18
I appreciated this book as soon as I read the Prologue. The main characters are sent to heaven, after finishing their last life cycle on earth, and have come to receive their next life instructions. They find out they will be meeting their soulmates in heaven but will not remember them once they reappear for their next life assignment - they will somehow have to find one another again on earth. The book moved at a nice steady pace, introducing a plethora of new characters along the way, but giving enough time to get to know each new person. I loved the interaction among the 4 brothers in the family and who doesn't love a Princess in trouble with 4 hunky men to help her? Keira Montclair has written another winner with an interesting and heavenly plot. I am looking forward to Book 2 in the Soulmate Chronicles Series.

Great Love Story with Wonderful Narration!
Revisado: 07-22-18
I really enjoyed this book - not your "run of the mill historical romance". It had spies, suspense, danger, treason, stolen jewels & coded documents naming surprising guilty person. Major Samuel Bennett believes the newly widowed Lady Claire Huntingdon is a traitor & he intends to get the necklace & coded papers away from her before sending her to prison. After the two meet, he is captivated by the widow & she may or may not be as guilty as he first thought. Claire is strong, intelligent, brave & beautiful & little by little & many adventures, they find themselves in love.. I loved all of the twists & turns in the plot & the chameleon characters were great. The ending was a definite surprise to me, I never would have guessed this character was the traitor. I felt all the characters were well developed & I hope we get to see some of them down the road in this series. I have read many of Laura Landon's books & find her style of writing very enjoyable - I highly recommend this series.
