Historia
Polly, Annie, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Mary-Jane are famous for the same thing, though they never met. What they had in common was the year of their murders: 1888. The person responsible was never identified, but the character created by the press to fill that gap has become far more famous than any of these five women. For more than a century, newspapers have been keen to tell us that "the Ripper" preyed on prostitutes. Not only is this untrue, as historian Hallie Rubenhold has discovered, but it has prevented the real stories of these fascinating women from being told.

Wow!
Revisado: 03-07-25
This book brings to light how women were treated in the awful Victorian era…and that carries through to today in the world to some extent. Wake up people! Women don’t deserve this treatment and certainly these 5 unfortunate women did not deserve what they got from birth to death.

Historia
At first, the residents of Kauai Beach Resort took little notice of their new neighbors. The glamorous blonde and her tall husband fit the image of the ritzy gated community. The couple seemed to keep to themselves - until the police knocked on their door with a search warrant. Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell had fled to Hawaii in the midst of being investigated for the disappearance of Lori's children back in Idaho - Tylee and JJ - who hadn't been seen alive in five months.

What a crazy story. The narrator was wonderful. I enjoyed it very much. Crazier than a made up story.

Revisado: 10-22-24
I am a true crime reader because I can’t understand the illness that drives people to commit crimes as horrific as GRK, Listening to this book made me sad, disgusted, hateful. I gave it 5 stars for the writing and performance of the narrator.

Historia
Now, Bram Stoker's Dracula - the pinnacle of Gothic horror for generations - rises again. When young English lawyer Jonathan Harker arrives in Transylvania on the eve of Saint George's Day, he cannot shake a strange feeling of uneasiness. The air grows colder as he arrives at his destination: the castle of Count Dracula. Jonathan has been summoned by the count for business, and while he finds his new host obliging and polite, he can't help but notice the man's pallid skin, odd lack of appetite, and long daytime absences.
