Historia
Some fall prey to those holding a gun for the first time. Others cannot be defeated even by the most experienced shooters in the world, unless their luck comes to save the day. Cheater’s accuracy is unparalleled, and Lady Luck is on his side. He has all the marks of a champion, and champions never miss. The true aim of his heart, though, is not one that can be hit with a single fortunate shot. No, she is far to the west, beyond several of the Continent’s most dangerous locations: the bleak boundaries dividing regions from one another.

Historia
Cheater now has a straightforward goal, or so it seems to him. To everyone else, his endeavor sounds suicidal for a high-level veteran, never mind a newcomer whose intellect is still shackled by the System. Cheater sees only one way forward: develop his skills, conquer monsters, and become stronger, faster, wiser, and more fearsome with each passing day. Until he makes progress on his own capabilities, he cannot hope to achieve anything else. But the System has intentions of its own.

Luck is a type of talent too
Revisado: 07-09-23
either the author is a genius or insane there is no in-between.
to that point all of the reviews are correct. ALL OF THEM!
I started listening to the book and then 25% looked at the review and notice all the praises for comedy.
In the words of Megatron, "This is bad comedy"
about 50% in I agreed with all the negative reviews. I have not a clue if he isekai, or time traveled, I don't know where this story takes place and why there is a distinction of "the American" when none of them have any accents or speak different languages basically indicating that they are not all American but I was determined to see it thru!
now that I am done I know what the problem is there are 3 of them
1) Dan has NO people skills, like none at all! clearly, he spent all his time as a neet. if he would just have conversations, ask follow-up questions, or just interact with the irl people the way he does with NPCs most of his perceived problems would be solved. COMMUNICATION!
2) he is slightly dumb and sucks at video games. he doesn't check his in-game menu or remember skills or stats. he is slightly sexiest. While his "out of the box thinking " should work (min-maxing and treating NPCs as if they are real people) is a way the many ML "win" he does not even know then he has an advantage and it is only smart if you know what you are doing.
3) this problem is with the book itself. this is one of the few books we get to see the same seen from different people's point of view and see how they feel about it (not a bad thing) it's just now we know how dumb this guy is. and that everyone else is overthinking everything. again not a bad thing just it highlights the other problems
so yes he is just lucky. That is all he has going for him. but the crime is that he both does not know it and is not using it to his advantage. there are differently better lucky characters like
the lucky general from Painting the Mists, By Patrick Laplante
or
the Ultimate Lucky Student, Nagito Komaeda from Danganronpa
or
even Domino from The X-Men
The key difference is they are using their luck and are likable characters that do not cry about crying all the time about being unlucky while overestimating their skills and intelligence.
that being said I like the book and I liked dan. I just want him to be better. and for the love of god tell someone your secret
there is a piece at the end that could solve a lot of problems or cause more. it has me interested enough that I will continue and then adjust my review accordingly :)

Historia
You are no one. Level zero. Empty of mind and memory. Even your past has been stripped from your brain by the inscrutable System. A long, difficult road lies between you and remembering any part of who you are. A road punctuated with one death after another. You are too puny to survive by might alone. Information is the single resource that might keep you alive, but the brainless “digis” have none of it. Only those with experience can give you what you need, but most care nothing about you or your plight. In fact, some make it their mission to kill you.

Hear is the thing.... - updated
Revisado: 06-15-23
I looked at the reviews and chose not to listen to them. and I can see why the negative reviews felt the way they did.
1) the FL called the ML a MORON so many times and with such vehemence, I actually started getting mad for him. I felt like she was talking to me and I wanted to strangle her every time she spoke... That is until I got a couple more chapters in and realize he actually was stupid. and not in the way the book tried to classify being a moron, he is just dumb. but that still did not stop me from wanting to hit her every time she says it.
2)that being said the book did hint that his intelligence and reasoning are lower because he is not level 10. so I'm hoping all of the ML bad characteristics are the author's brilliant way of showing how smart he will be once he reaches level 10. and if that's the case i will revise my review because that would be brilliant.
3) ok this one is a real problem but not a big one just annoying. i have no idea what people are doing when they are talking. there is a clear distinction between action and dialog and they are never mixed. so it ends up being long monologs of people talking at other people like "hey I'm talking to you why are you not moving hurry up well if your not going to move ill just leave" but no break to tell us what is happening in the scene why are they not moving or anything. again not a super big deal just annoying
4) not a super fan of zombies or "the infected" I was not expecting that but other than my personal feeling about them i don't really have a problem with the world-building other than i hope they touch more on abilities and the menu system later again I'm hoping he did not go into that because of his system defects
*******
Just finished book 2 and I revising my rating because most of the things I was concerned about like him being stupid or the lack of menus was just good world-building :)

Historia
Surviving the first days of the apocalypse, William is a wreck and hiding in an attic. The daily acid storms, floating elementals, and bizarre mutated animals are the least of his problems. The reality-warping apocalypse has rules and a system much like those in video games. To survive, he must learn how the new uncooperative system works, choose a class without any real knowledge of what it does and create a place safe from the spawning horrors.

its good but not great
Revisado: 06-09-23
I don't usually leave words I just give the stars and move on the author specify put at the end that he would like a review so here I go
overall it was good, a great new take on litrpg. the characters you were supposed to like, you liked, and the ones you didn't, you didn't; without telling us "like him". the author does a good job of making the mc a normal guy that doesn't have a lot of gaming knowledge and then gives him support. there were just some small things that bothered me
.*****may contain spoilers*****
1) there is way too much crying in the beginning. conceal don't feel man! thank god they did not go into detail about it. it was just a "he cried"
2) the mc says multiple times he is not using his skills correctly but does not do anything to change that. and while we are talking about skills, why are there so many guns! I get it humans like guns but you can use magic. if you want a high-powered projectile imbue your arrows with magic.
3) the end was annoying the mc has PTSD and is in severe denial. which is fine heal man but I spent the whole book waiting to find out what is going on, cause you won't let anyone tell us and then it just ends. I still don't know. TBH I am ok if he doesn't want to tell us about his family ... I keep hoping maybe they are still alive but I want to know what the system said.
4) FIND A BLACKSMITH I know he is trying and needs a weapon but you can't tell me leather skin is helping, on the body of someone who is no longer "human" If coveralls are going to be his thing I would have rather he found someone with the blacksmith class, and built a relationship and then ask him to make new coveralls out of the rat skin and a proper spear. I know it didn't happen but I am surprised the ice spear did not explode.
5)the rabbit is clearly a tamable animal why are you not making nice with it !
ok, I'm done picking. it's a good start I hope the next one comes out soon.

Clare MacBride has her life in exactly the order she wants it. In a year, she'll have finished her geology dissertation, though she's no closer to figuring out the answer to one question that plagues her. Why does she feel stones pulse with energy? A centuries-old curse, a mysterious faction of protectors, and a mythological godstone all sound like old world fairytale nonsense to Clare. It only takes one rainy evening with a silver-eyed fae and a handsome stranger promising protection to rock her world forever.

Narrowly avoiding death at the hands of the horribly creepy smiling men - thanks to a timely rescue by Kaden Kolrath, the Dragon of Alkazar - she now stands at the cusp of the portal that will safely carry her home. But as she hesitates at the edge, the haughty Frystlord Vash Olkarian has Kaden locked in a life or death struggle of sorcery that even the Dragon may not be able to win. If there was ever a time to figure out how to use her mysterious spark, now would be the time to do it....

I both love this book and it was a struggle to finish the story was good and the writing was well done but I just couldn't get into it because the narrator was kind of monotone and he kind of ruin the book for me which was sad because he has a really good voice for reading but it just took something away from the book
