Historia
Sports Agent Myron Bolitar is in his new office on the top of a skyscraper in New York when two FBI agents ask him this very question. The man they refer to is a top basketball player and Myron's former client and old rival. Greg's DNA, they tell him, has been found at the scene of a high-profile double-murder, and he is now their main suspect. It can't be Greg, Myron tells the two agents: the reason he is Myron's 'former' client is because Greg is dead. He died three years ago of a heart attack. Myron went to his funeral and gave the eulogy.

disappointing
Revisado: 06-23-24
I went into this with an open mind but found a major plot hole central to the main mystery to be
very distracting. had an interesting premise, but needed more development to be satisfying.

Historia
Sixteen seasons in the sun—mostly. A cricket-mad Australian is living in England when he makes a decision that will change his life. He becomes an umpire. In this sparkling new memoir we journey from Sunday village friendlies in Kent and the county championship, to the hallowed turf of the MCG and some of the world's best female cricketers.

Great cricket story.
Revisado: 11-03-21
Richards soft mellow tones are a wonderful introduction to an ordinary man's story which could be from any Australian who has spent some time in the UK.
A chance reading of an advertisement had introduced cricket umpiring and which has been the nexus of a significant and unforgettable experience.
How great is that?
Richard relaxed and humorous style encapsulates an entertaining and vivid set of images to these wonderful cricket grounds set in the shadows of equally fascinating local pubs and their beers.
a great read and listen.

Historia
You’ve never met the other wives. None of you know each other, and because of this unconventional arrangement, you can see your husband only one day a week. But you love him so much you don’t care. Or at least that’s what you’ve told yourself. But one day, while you’re doing laundry, you find a scrap of paper in his pocket—an appointment reminder for a woman named Hannah, and you just know it’s another of the wives.

lazy storytelling
Revisado: 07-26-20
without spoiling the ending, part of what good mystery thrillers do is give the reader all the pieces to a mystery and then reveal that all the clues were there.
this book does not do that and doesn't need to be clever or creative in its execution.

Historia
Earth and its society have been changed irrevocably in the aftermath of Ender Wiggin's victory over the Formics. The unity forced upon the warring nations by an alien enemy has shattered. Nations are rising again, seeking territory and influence, and most of all, seeking to control the skills and loyalty of the children from the Battle School. But one person has a better idea. Peter Wiggin, Ender's older, more ruthless, brother, sees that any hope for the future of Earth lies in restoring a sense of unity and purpose. And he has an irresistible call on the loyalty of Earth's young warriors.

terrible<br />
Revisado: 01-24-15
I'm done with the enderverse. this book took formerly compelling characters and made them mouth peices for orson scott cards beliefs. the genius battle commander petra can now only talk about how she wants to make babies. guh. achilles has completely jumped the shark. enders parents being brilliant people that just deceived their children about their intelligence was absurd.

Historia
Everyone has their own inner philosopher - a voice within that asks, oh so insistently, philosophical questions. Everyone wants to know what the ultimate nature of the world is, what the self is, whether we have free will, how our minds relate to our bodies, whether we can really know anything, where ethical truth comes from, what the meaning of life is, and whether or not there is a God.

Informative
Revisado: 07-15-09
A good introductory guide to the world of philosophy. The Professor is informative and passionate and does his best to remain neutral.
However when it comes to argument on the topic of God and the relationship between Faith and Reason his thoughts should be supplemented by Professor Peter Kreeft's Faith and Reason, also in the Modern Scholar Series.
