Text Appeal is about a romance book author who moved from the city to a small town on the Pacific Northwest coast. She is sent a text from an unknown number, and when she responds, it sets in motion a domino effect that will forever change her life. Rylie gets a text from a woman who is trying to get her ex-boyfriend to respond to her. Rylie tried to explain that she was just given this new number and had no clue who “Conner is,” though she is accused of being his new fling for the time being. The next day, she goes to get coffee at the local café, and there are two tip jars, one with her name and one for Conner’s ex Ava, his high school sweetheart, and on and off again, relationship for the past 15 years. This book is also an audiobook narrated by Savannah Peachwood Alex Kydd. The two narrators bring the words written by J. Saman to life through their readings. The listener experiences emotions conveyed in the story on a more personal level than just the written words, which is already pretty fantastic.

I am looking forward to reading the new Westwood series by A. K. Evans. Her books are spicy, slow-burn romance books with realistic stories and characters. I can’t wait to read or listen to any of A. K. Evans’ romance stories regardless of the trope written.

Viper by Aly Stiles is quite a rockstar romance about a crushed guitarist, Wes, and Hannah, his former best friend Holland’s little sister. Wes had been in love with Holland since they were children; she was his best friend. Wes and Holland began the band Tracing Holland and co-wrote the songs together. A band falling out included a brawl between Wes and Holland’s new man, resulting in Wes walking out on the band. He holed up nursing his wounds in booze and self-pity when Hannah showed up broken in her way, needing a place to live. Hannah is dealing with her demons after losing her attorney job. Wes and Hannah’s connection to each other initially is self-medication for their internal wounds until it becomes much more for both. Wes and Hannah must address their issues before healing enough to pursue the other. Aly Stiles writes about emotional dysfunction and mental illness with sensitivity. She allows her characters to act out and seek help so healing can happen. It is a rockstar story that hits all the emotions exposed in the audiobook with the narration by Joe Arden.

Unharmed (Harper Security Ops Book 13) by A. K. Evans is a romantic suspense where the shockers just keep coming.
Unharmed is also an audiobook narrated by Addison Barnes and Troy Duran, whose sultry voices give life to the story. It is narrated with spot-on emotion and the spice when appropriate. I love the audiobook that could convey the richness of an old-time radio broadcast of a drama only with earbuds versus the ornate old radio of times long past.
Police officers informed Lamisse that her fiancée Graham had been found dead by a venomous snakebite while out jogging in the local park. Additionally, the officers had no idea whereabouts of the couple’s missing dog, Henry. Six months later, still reeling from grief, Lamise found a shocking video on Graham’s cell phone that shook her to her core and brought up the horrifying idea that maybe Graham’s death wasn’t an accident, as well as she might be in danger. Lamise, needing to find a job, decided to go to Harper Security Opps to apply for any secretarial job. While there, she learned that no jobs were available then, but before she reached her car to leave, single dad Banks (who was in the office when she turned in her resume) offered her a nanny position for his infant son Ryes. As Lamise finds herself caring for baby Ryes, she discovers a new purpose and a growing ability to move on in her grief. Banks has his demons that haunt him about his deceased wife and mother of Reys. Banks and Lamise bond over loving baby Reys as they release their masks and get to know each other. Once Lamise’s secret about her former fiancée is out, Banks is determined to find answers and protect Lamise. Solving the mystery and falling in love is quite the story that needs to be read. A. K. Evans is a master at spinning the suspense with a slow-burn romance that always has a HEA.

Jolie decides to spend the night with this handsome man rather than attend her mother’s engagement party. Unbeknownst to either of them that night was the fact that Shane's dad was marrying Jolie's mother, and they were to be stepsiblings. Shane was abandoned as a child, so he was not blood-related to Jacob, his adopted dad, who considered him his son. Shane participates in illegal fights not just for money, as doesn't need the income, but because he likes subduing his opponents and winning with the accompanying high, he feels after a fight. Jolie is looking for a "unicorn" or a man who will love and cherish her with a forever kind of love. Jolie feels so hurt and devastated when she realizes that her ONS was with her future stepbrother Shane that she left Canada to live in the US for four years. Shane's insecurities and lack of trust in his being "good enough" keep him and Jolie apart until they meet at a pre-wedding festivity. Since Jolie decides to help her mom with her wedding planning since the planner quit, she must check and see if Shane will be attending the wedding, which puts Jolie in Shane's path, where their attraction to each other combusts into flames. Jolie and Shane have quite a story to tell. From the moment's passion ignites to fighting inner demons and discovering what they each want out of life. Jaine Diamond is a master story weaver where each book is not empty fluff but deals with internal traumas and emotions that shape who people are and why each reacts and acts in a particular manner. Diamond's books are treasures to be read, and I have re-read her books over and over! Jaine Diamond's books always leave a lasting imprint on her readers, which is a sign of a talented author.

Game Changer is a slow-burn romance that ends on a cliffhanger with Nova thinking she has her life back with Clay supporting her to discover he was not being honest with her about the future track he wants to take his career. Game Changer ends with Nova receiving a new and exciting job offer that will place her again in Denver, where she will be in the same area as Clay. Their future encounters are unknown as Nova is burning Clay’s jersey, and Clay now wants a 2nd chance, to be answered in Shot Taker, the 2nd King of the Court book in the four-book series. Game Changer is also available in an audiobook by Lance Greenfield and Carly Robins that brings the book to life in their reading. Emotions are spot on, and the steamy scenes radiate a spicy heat the reader can feel. Piper Lawson’s books are always a five-star read, even when divided into a four-book series, three of which are cliffhangers.

Brynn discovers she has a stalker that puts Jake’s protectiveness on high alert. There is passion, intrigue, and a mystery to solve. Brynn helps Jake reevaluate his life as he does everything in his power to keep her safe. With twists and turns that astonish the reader at the end. The book Intention is Harper Security Ops book 12 is a standalone interlocking series about the men who work for Harper Security and how each find his lady love. A. K. Evans never ceases to amaze me with the variety of stories and books she writes that are all unique and full of romance each with their own HEA. A. K. Evan’s book Intention is an audiobook narrated by Maxine Mitchell's husky voice and Stephen Dexter whose sexy voice ratches up the sexiness of listening pleasure. The story was read in such a way one could imagine being a part of the book.
