My first 4 star review for this series
Revisado: 11-19-22
It’s not that I didn’t like the book, but I don’t get how an entire book goes by without advancing the overall story arc. Basically, this is just one book-long battle that poses more questions without any resolutions. Maybe the authors just wanted to write a book-long battle? It was really well written.

Historia
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Good story with lots of potential for series
Revisado: 08-12-22
As usual, RC Bray delivers. I enjoyed the story, but I have to say that I did not enjoy hearing over and over about our wizard’s lack of ability and his back story — again and again. I think readers retain information and repeating it— to choose an arbitrary — more than two times is seen as a frustrating interruption in the pace of the story. Mr. Alison is no where as bad as Robert Jordan was — I stop reading him at book 6 because of the ceaseless repetition.

Historia
The Zodiac and the Salts of Salvation is a two-part work first published in 1932 by frequent collaborators Dr. George Washington Carey (1845-1924) and Inez Eudora Perry (1871-1961). This book explores the use of certain minerals called “cell-salts” to cure disease and how one's Zodiac sign impacts their cell-salt deficiencies.

Arrrgghhh! The narrator!
Revisado: 11-19-21
I have written very few negative reviews on the over 380 titles I have -- over 360 l've have listened to. This narrator is so monotone, I feel like I'm going to go to sleep listening. He reads poetry the same way one would read a time table for trains. No inflections and no emphasis. Awful doesn't begin to describe this horrid non-ending inexorable march of words into and through the next miss-pronunciation. Who says "typical" as "type-a-cal" and so much more.
I'm going to get the print version. This is, well, I said it.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

One of the best books I’ve ever listened to
Revisado: 08-17-21
I love this book. It was so well done in every way. I’ve listened to hundreds of books here on Audible and this is one of my very very favorites. The unique aliens in this book top my list of best aliens ever! The story is incredibly well done. It’ll make you laugh. It’ll make you cry. It’ll leave you with suspense and mystery. The narrator does a superb job as he always does. Andy, I don’t know how you’re going to top this one ,but I will be there to read it when you do. Do I ever hope they make a movie out of this one! Oh my God!

The author named the book's AI Alexa! Stupidity
Revisado: 07-17-21
You cannot listen to this book in a house with more than one Alexa. It cannot be done unless all the other Echo's are disabled. I like to listen to books on multiple Echos while I move about my house. Can't do that with this book. What happens is that the other Alexas just start playing random stuff that I've never before heard of nor want to hear of. Exceedingly annoying.
Did Audible have a brain fart to let this go by?!
You think naming a main character "Alexa" is funny? I'm returning the book. Too many other good books out there that do not dump on their audience. Mr Bray is as good a ever. the story, I don't know. I got interrupted too many times.

One thousand years later. Humanity has left Earth behind and is rapidly expanding throughout the galaxy under the banner of The Union, a white supremacist government who racially ‘purified’ the human race hundreds of years in the past. Living on the fringe of this twisted Fourth Reich society, Dark Horse - the only Black man in the Union - commandeers a vessel and scours the galaxy for his missing teammates under the guise of an Exo-Hunter, seeking out exo-planets to satiate the Union’s need for colonization.

Revisado: 05-19-21
I must say, IMO, there are some racist people writing hate reviews on this book. That is all they are. This book was high action, fun and fresh. Thank you Mr Robinson and Mr Bray! Awesomely well done! I couldn’t stop listening. BTW, at no time did I have the impression a “rant” was taking place.

Totally confused
Revisado: 11-19-20
I’m 1/3 through the 4th chapter and I have no clue about what is going on. I have the idea i’m hearing this book out of order. It is as if this chapter should be later in the book. I have loved every book PFH has written and have never been confused. But this one? So far it is just too many unrelated story pieces and not enjoyable to listen to.

The event that wiped life from the planet started at the supercollider. It created a rift in space-time. The astronaut stranded aboard the space station, Commander Angela Brown, is a theoretical physicist who used to work at the collider.

Angonizing misuse of the language
Revisado: 05-31-20
The constant use of the words “the astronaut “ in place of “she” and the words “the man” in place of “he” is mind numbing. These phrases interrupt the flow of the story as their proper use would refer to an ancillary or extra character. That is, people so unimportant that they are not given names or developed.

Haven’t met a PFH book I didn’t love
Revisado: 07-30-19
Yes, I very much enjoyed this book. All the really good stuff has been said.
But for the record, there needs to be some time between switching from one part to another. Otherwise following becomes difficult. This seems so , Duh!” so why isn’t it done here? This series is epic in scope with many characters in many different settings. It is hard enough to get them sorted out without having to also “detect” scene changes. I hope this gets fixed, if not here, in future books.

Historia
The year is 2380. The Intersolar Commonwealth, a sphere of stars some 400 light-years in diameter, contains more than 600 worlds, interconnected by a web of transport "tunnels" known as wormholes. At the farthest edge of the Commonwealth, astronomer Dudley Bose observes the impossible: Over 1,000 light-years away, a star...vanishes. It does not go supernova. It does not collapse into a black hole. It simply disappears.

lows my mind every time
Revisado: 07-25-19
Peter if Hamilton blows my mind with every book he writes. I love his stories and I love the complex nature of the characters and situations he creates. Pandoras Star sets the stage for an epic journey into imagination. The narration is inspiring and the story rewarding. As the situations of the many disparate characters is woven together the story crystallizes in such a way that you have to wonder how in the world did the author put that together?
I have yet to read a book or listen to a book by peter F Hamilton that doesn’t weave perfectly together. The reality dysfunction perhaps stretched this complexity to a level that was unacceptable to some readers. In Pandoras star he uses the same format but Somehow he manages to bring everything together very nicely.
