Seriously, Margaret Atwood is a talented writer. She should leave the narration to literally anyone else. She sounds half dead.

Pleasantly surprised

I wasn't sure I was going to like this book for the first few chapters as it was a little hard to follow. I'm glad I stuck with it because I ended up liking it a lot! It's pretty spicy too!
The male narrator completely drops the "t" in words that follow with "n" (wri-en instead of written). It's pretty annoying.

Can't Finish

I could tolerate the reader if the story was worth listening to. Unfortunately I can't finish this 2nd book of the series.

The Rugrats meets Twilight

Because it was included in my membership I got through the first book, despite the horrible narration. But the 2nd book is just worth finishing. I honestly don't mind the narrator's voice, however, the female secondary character voices are like nails down a chalkboard. Where the heck did these names come from? Dank, really? I keep imagining him smelling like an old cellar.
The story isn't improving at all so I'm bailing before I finish.

Little Girl?

I'm not a fan of this narrator at all. I try to overlook that and then the writing style is weird and Colton's pet name for his mate is "little girl" which I think is gross. It's a lot to overcome. If it wasn't free it would have been returned within the first 5 minutes.

As others have said, the poor recording quality, and the constant cussing... even made up words (i.e. d*ckattude) takes away from the message.

How does this have so many stars?

I listened to book 2 hoping it would redeem itself and was disappointed. Children, sex, incest... it's not romance, it's disturbing. Maybe disturbing is what Huss is going for. It wouldn't be the first time. I will heed the warnings of others going forward and save my credit.

Where to begin? I was hoping the 2nd book in the series would have redeeming qualities, but nope. My open-minded curiosity has met its end with this stuff. Where is the "romance" part of this dark romance? Please stop with the child sex themes and incest. They admit the whole time they know it's wrong. It was gross and disturbing. Everyone in this book is messed up. The orgy was not a necessary part of the storyline involving Indi, so why? The ending was also no surprise.
Why does Nathan sound like he's on the edge of retirement instead of a young, hot dude?
