I absolutely loved the performance of this book. The way the audio was set so that Narration had that "in my head" echo was great.
Of course the voice actors did great, and it made the story come alive hearing different voices.

The story really is a classic and has aged quite well. The reader learns while being intrigued and entertained... but they feel like part of the story which is unexpected given the subject matter.

Now, as a story of course this is not top tier drama nor is it meant to be. It is a fable!

I typically like Robert Kiyosaki's work and teaching. He is right much more than wrong and history is already proving that.
My problem wasn't the content of this book per se... it is something we all are going to face, even if we don't have our own pensions. My takeaway is very much that I need to start preparing not only for my own future but fully anticipating what will be looted to cover these wasteful obligations as well. It was good to learn the scope of the problem.

My issue was with how repetitive it got. I would probably say this is half bad editing, and half simply the challenge of a multi-author book. Regardless, I found it frustrating to read, often thinking I'd accidentally picked up several chapters behind where I was. The first few times I let it go but it just kept happening. Repetition is good, but only if you reformat it for better understanding. Literally repeating entire phrases like it was copy+pasted was distracting.

Further, there were many hints to strategies coming at the end of the book that I either missed or they just weren't there.

In terms of performance, I didn't have a single issue. The audio was even and tone was good. Yet I have to wonder if he found himself thinking... "Did I already read this?" as well.

I'm writing this as someone who followed Chandler's first edition of this book and teaching in Self Publishing School.
I can tell you first hand that the process works. I launched two books in 2020 with virtually no market to a niche notorious for not spending their own money (IT Services). After passing 1000 books sold, I can tell you now that the lessons in Published made the difference. I am on track for 1000 per book by mid 2022, likely more as I implement some additional strategies found here and in the bonus materials!

That being said, I will now say that I wish this second edition had been released back then!
There is so much GOLD in here that you simply will not believe such a short book can work. But if you put in the effort, the process absolutely works, and the lessons on offer here are ones that I have personally validated with actual sales.

For the Audio edition, Chandler's voice adds to the passion and it is a joy to follow along with the PDF included with the Audiobook. His energy comes thru and I have to be completely honest that I was even surprised at the quality of editing.

Bottom line: If you have even an inkling of an idea for writing a book and wonder if it is possible, I can tell you that it is and this book has everything you need to go from 0 words on the page to successfully published author.

There is always a risk in an author reading their own book when they have a thick accent of any kind. Personally I may have had to rewind once or twice because I tend to listen at more than native speed... But I find Farrah Storr's British accent super-charming and that it captured my attention. She totally makes it work because she is authentic - yet speaking with authority on how you really can improve your life. I will admit that I purchased this largely for research into a similar book that I am writing... but I found myself drawn in by her story, then applying the things she is teaching. By the way, if you have not seen her Ted Talk do yourself a favor and go view it.
Then read this and start applying those BMDs!

The Narrator is the star of this. Not Clancy's best work by far, but still good. Just enough clues to make you realize what is going to happen without being upset. A little over descriptive at times which actually became distracting in the Audible format.

This is a book I didn't think could exist. Imagine your work drama being told, only in such a way that the process is being improved and there is actually a happy ending in sight?
This book is not a How-to but a Novel. It is literally a story, but what I loved about it is that challenges as much as causes you to relate.
I really can't say enough good about how drawn into it I was. Literally to the point of being anxious to the point of not sleeping at times, then sleeping like a baby later. This book just got me in a way that no other could, and dropped me gently on the side of hope.

More than that, I learned a lot and I am excited to bring some of "Bill's" lessons learned to my leading practices.
Bottom line, if you want to be successful, IT needs to work in synergy with your company, not as a service org, and this book leads you from why to how as if you were binge watching on Netflix.

The narration was good, but I have to be honest and say the editing was distracting at points. Random shifts in pitch, pace and at times actual tone of the recording changed occasionally. That said, the performance and each character having a distinct voice was a huge plus. It was well read and engaging overall.

Bottom line, I will be having my entire team read or listen to this book, and will be recommending it heavily to our clients and my team!

Perhaps the most annoying Star Wars book ever

Revisado: 04-22-16

Written in a kind of narrative that I call "present tense irritating" - hard to follow staccato phrases that feel more like a script than a story are bad enough... but the random abandoned storylines that pepper the various interludes make the book impossible to keep up with. Bland characters that show up for no reason at all, and even Han Solo shows up... for no reason, and only once to... interact with none of the characters and... fly thru space. There were easily more than 10 characters and subplots introduced in single chapters that have nothing to do with anything, never appear again and add nothing at all.
Add to it the forced addition of American slang and forced homosexual characters that add literally nothing to the story other than the author making it a point to make sure you know they are homosexual... and you have far and away the worst piece of tripe I have ever sat thru.
The narration wasn't great but could have been worse, a cacophony of various Earthly accents along with a kid you will think sounds like Fry from Futurama. Cheesy at times but overall it felt like he did the best he could with the horrible dialogue.

In all, I have read better fan fiction. I am simply shocked at how in the world this author made the cut. Don't waste your time.

I really enjoyed the content, though the translation from book to audio was a little awkward at times. I found the distortion and pops from one of the author/readers distracting, but I did enjoy the energy and having two readers to keep things interesting. I plan to further engage the community and other resources mentioned. Good way to stay positive at work!
