Historia
Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

The book that revolutionized business communications has been updated for today's workplace. Crucial Conversations provides powerful skills to ensure every conversation - especially difficult ones - leads to the results you want. Written in an engaging and witty style, it teaches listeners how to be persuasive rather than abrasive, how to get back to productive dialogue when others blow up or clam up, and it offers powerful skills for mastering high-stakes conversations, regardless of the topic or person.

Great book if you have not had any formal education.
Revisado: 06-05-23
This book is a great resource. It helps us evaluate our communication skills and improve on them. Its key recommendations help us become better listeners, proficient communicators, improved logical/critical thinkers/problem solvers, and breaks down our barriers to understanding other when conversations get heated or difficult.
I do however believe this is a little redundant if you have had proper higher education such as a doctorate, a law degree, etc. The advice it provides will help many and can be of a good review if you are looking to have a better communication skill, but ultimately is not something completely revolutionary.
If you are a health professional or a seasoned manager, you know that deescalation and common goals in conversations (just to name some methods) is extremely important to neutralize a confrontational conversation with patients, family members, and potential/returning clients.
It is probably best suited for those just starting out in whatever field they are in, or for those in the middle of their degrees.

America's Great Depression

Historia
The Great Depression was not a crisis for capitalism but merely an example of the downturn part of the business cycle, which was generated by government intervention in the economy. Had this book appeared in the 1940s, it might have spared the world much grief. Even so, its appearance in 1963 meant that free-market advocates had their first full-scale treatment of this crucial subject.

A great look into what happened to our economy, from a purely empirical standpoint
Revisado: 01-23-23
This book was exactly what I was looking for. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I remember studying US and World History in High School. I can still listen to my teachers talk about the different eras, such as WW1, WW2, the Great Depression…the 60s, the 70s, and the 80s. I can’t however recall ever going in depth into the economic, political aspect of the Great Depression.
I think this book gives you a great view of what happened, how it happened and why. Although there is a marked tendency to condemn the actions of the governmental administration, I believe it was justified. The story has empirical data that substantiate most of the events. Thats what I liked most about it.
I had been looking into finding a book that could open my eyes to what our economy and government was like before the depression, how it all worked. This book delivered on that. If you are a in the market for a factual account of one of our most important economic events in modern history, look no further.
I would recommend to keep google handy, since there are a lot of macro/microeconomic terminology used, and if you have not touched up on those subjects recently, you might have to between chapters.

Words. We use them all the time, every day, mostly without giving them much thought at all. We take for granted that they’re here at our disposal whenever we need them. But if you’ve ever wished you could communicate more effectively, words are the place to start. It’s incumbent upon you to choose the best words to accomplish your goals, because how you choose to communicate influences—well, everything! The power of communication shapes our professional goals, our relationships, and our lives—so the words we choose to use carry a great deal of power.

Some good lessons here and there, but a little too politically correct in my oponion.
Revisado: 01-19-23
The book is a good in general. The material is helpful for those trying to learn some more advanced communication tools and techniques.
Ultimately, I think it is better directed for younger folk, maybe those coming out of high-school or those in their mid college years. It has very basic grammatical and syntax oriented information that should in theory be instilled during your younger years in grade school.
However, if you believe you might need some communication skills, or might be struggling in your professional/personal life with communication, this book could be of some help!

Serving as a powerful follow-up to Jordan Peterson’s book 12 Rules for Life, Dr. Gad Saad unpacks what is really happening in progressive safe zones, why we need to be paying more attention to these trends, and what we must do to stop the spread of dangerous thinking. A professor at Concordia University who has witnessed this troubling epidemic firsthand, Dr. Saad dissects a multitude of these concerning forces (corrupt thought patterns, belief systems, attitudes, etc.) that have given rise to a stifling political correctness in our society.

This book was not what I thought it was gonna be. It was full of all the classic leftist extremist examples that most conservatives complain of.
I was expecting more neutral ideas and beliefs from this book, but nonetheless, I am happy I heard it. If you are looking for a book to introduce you to conservative ideas, this might be your pick. The author does a pretty good job of being rather comical/sarcastic about his message, which aided the books message.
I think its actually a good book, which hits major points of what is ruining our society today, and what can be done differently. It can be a little alarming at times when explaining the counter arguments, as the author uses rather descriptive adjectives for those “ideologues”.

This book is a great read for any health professional. I would recommend anyone in the healthcare field, specially those who are in the prevention of disease branch, to read this book.
For anyone who is not a healthcare professional, this is a rather difficult book to read, in my humble opinion. There are a lot of specifics, scientific language, and medical terms that can be daunting for those who do not study the subject.
