New narrator, same great series
Revisado: 08-30-23
Even though switching narrators mid-series is a bad move, Michael Page is a fantastic and talented voice actor. Don't let the grumbling keep you from this awesome series!

Better than ever!
Revisado: 01-10-22
A fantastic continuation of the Malazan saga. I'd say it's more relatable for new readers than the last series. We have a lot of new faces and many old ones too.
I have to say that Emma Gregory is one of my favorite narrators now. Not only a pleasant reading voices but very well acted and unique character voices. She's had no trouble stepping up where Michael Page and Ralph Lister left off

Much better narrator,
Revisado: 07-15-17
Book 2 has held my complete attention from start to finish. The worldbuilding is intriguing and cleverly designed. A couple of character's attitudes/ demeanor has changed between books but it's not enough to break immersion. It might be due the narration style as well (Clay's country bearing for instance).
Speaking of narration..after reading the completely unfair reviews (Steven Brands relatives I assume) about West's reading I feel the need for balance. West is a VAST improvement over the monotone and monovoice of the last narrator. He actually...get ready...voice acts! He's talented and does the books justice. Believe me, I understand how jarring a new reader can be but this was necessary.
Overall, this is an exciting read and a great continuation for Draconis Memoria.

Awesome start to a new trilogy & a talented reader
Revisado: 04-21-17
Red Sister is a fun read, not too dark but certainly not PG either. The setting is rather unique, I'm definitely intrigued and can't wait to see where it goes. I don't like to give too much away about plot but I will mention one thing that I appreciated. Our hero is no Mary Sue. She is nonetheless deadly and rather awesome. Lawrence did a great job of finding that balance.
I was really impressed with Heather O'Neil as a narrator. Along with a nice reading voice she used distinct but believable voices for each character. I really hope to hear much more of her work!

Even better than the first!
Revisado: 05-11-16
I really enjoyed Fall of Light. As long as this book is, I was sad to see it end. I never felt as though I had to slog through. Readers of the Malazan series will recognize even more familiar faces and witness their humble beginnings. We also get to see answers to a few mysteries. The narrator has done a fantastic job as well. His voices and voice acting are very well done. Listeners will have no problem distinguishing characters. That said, the second book's story arc is well rounded and ties up nicely.
