Do you know how fortunate you are to have the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights in our Constitution? Do you know what's in it? Do you know how we got it? Did you know it is under constant attack from motivated interests? Knowledge, knowing the real facts through source checking and critical thinking, is both power and comfort. Is it propaganda that America was founded on christian principles, a televangelist's misinterpretation of history? Or is it true, and that's why we only see in America the Christian interpretation of everything?

A wake up call to all those valuing real liberty
Revisado: 11-23-22
More violation of the separation of church and state than I suspected. A decades old invasion into the US government and judiciary by so called Christians, bent on establishing their own radical evangelical version of Iran. A church state devolved to the Spanish Inquisition mentality.

No skill is more important in today's world than being able to think about, understand, and act on information in an effective and responsible way. What's more, at no point in human history have we had access to so much information, with such relative ease, as we do in the 21st century. But because misinformation out there has increased as well, critical thinking is more important than ever. Singularly, the most valuable course/book in my Audible library. Should be a required college course.

What is Western Civilization? According to Professor Noble, it is "much more than human and political geography," encompassing myriad forms of political and institutional structures - from monarchies to participatory republics - and its own traditions of political discourse. It involves choices about who gets to participate in any given society and the ways in which societies have resolved the tension between individual self-interest and the common good.

Not Engaging or Very Interesting
- De Tommy D'Angelo en 03-05-17
Excellent from start to finish
Revisado: 10-11-20
One of the more interesting and compelling contents of nearly any audio book I have listened to so far. Engageing and verbally dynamic presenter who made it very interesting to listen. Unlime some others that drone you to death despite how intriguing or interesting that topic may be. Highly recommend to anyone interested in an unbiased exposure to the highpoints in the evolution of Western civilization.

Historia
Centuries before whisperings began, of secret knowledge being handed down from the ancient Greeks, through shrouded fraternities such as the Rosicrucians and Freemasons, the Druids were slowly and steadfastly creating priests and philosophers of their own, akin to the Brahmans of India, the Magi of the Persians, as well as the hierophants and scholars of what would eventually become known to the world as the Western Mystery Tradition.

A short book with even less actual information.
Revisado: 03-07-18
With slightly less than 2 chapters of information in a 5 chapter book it could have been much shorter than it already was. The narrator was so enchanted with his own voice that the experience was completely impersonal as a listener. Like a poor Actor reading a script for the 1st time it was painfully obvious he was reading and not speaking to the listener. I will end up buying a book on druids and reading it for myself, but certainly not this one.
