Historia
It’s been eight years since a tragic accident changed Mo Kaminski’s and Chloe Miller’s lives forever. Now in their midtwenties, they’re sharing an apartment in San Francisco and navigating the normal challenges of early adulthood. Along with their roommate, Hazel, they are making their marks on the world - Mo revolutionizing the news with her media start-up, Hazel using her big brain to anticipate the future, and Chloe rescuing abandoned strays in the city.

Started w/a written copy, finished w/an audio bk
Revisado: 06-24-24
Started with a written copy, finished it via audio book and I STILL DISLIKED IT. I cannot tell you how many other books I read/listened to *in between* starting and finishing this story. It's not terribly written.... but it's certainly NOT a gripping story.
As a matter of fact, the reason I purchased an audio copy is because I couldn't get into the written version and sometimes being "read to" can open my eyes to a fantastic book (like A Wrinkle in Time, when I was a kid).
The topic is important (date rape/acquaintance rape) but the storylines seemed very jumbled with everyone having a backstory that wasn't developed. The only reason I finished it is because I paid for the audio version - had it been a library borrow, would have returned it early on.

Historia
For the children of Admiral Alexader York, perfection wasn't just expected, it was guaranteed - written into their DNA before they were born. But while Samantha grew into the physical and mental marvel their father had bought and paid for, her twin brother Edward proved a disappointment. Genetic tinkering had raised Sam above the common herd, but Edward's faultless body housed a faulty brain.

Have always loved the book, narrator was Eh
Revisado: 10-13-22
I've been a fan of this book ever since I first read it. It's still a great story but the narrator detracts from it. I always envisioned Edward as being a sweet man and I also imagined his voice like Ray Porter's (from Project Hail Mary). Adam's voice was a little too rattle-y, a little too 'old' (and yes, I realize Edward was supposed to be middle aged but still)... I dunno it bothered me. I also didn't imagine the warrior Mandasar sounding like... Yoda. Also? Why is it that women do better men's voices than vice versa?

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

I listen to it again and again
Revisado: 05-21-22
I preordered the Kindle before it even came out but have listened to this multiple times (usually while getting ready for work). Love the story, the characters and the narration. Worth the buy.

Great book, narration fair with some issues
Revisado: 01-30-21
Vigilant is one of my favorite books from this author (Hunted, is the other). The narrator was decent, I liked her voice but (and I don't know if she did this for her character) some of her inflections were annoying. Meaning her voice would go up at the end of a sentence A LOT - a bit like a question mark when it was actually a statement. Also there were points where she either did not read what was written or it was read weird (ie. dying ALIGHT instead of dying OF THE light, "there you ARE" instead of "there you GO"). Nitpicky of me? Maybe. But like I said, this is one of my more favorite books.

Historia
Hosts Cole Stratton and Janet Varney join four guest improvisers to create this show in total darkness in front of a live audience at a comedy club in California. The characters and the conflicts are all based upon the one-word suggestions from the people in the room and are enhanced with music and sound effects. Episodes feature a unicorn who plays board games, a talking dog that saves the day, and a boy who escapes from a bubble to pursue his passion for coin collecting.

Thank God it was FREE and SHORT
Revisado: 11-08-20
I've heard some funny improvs but this was not one of them. Took a chance on it because it was rated 4.7 stars but I should have gotten a clue when ZERO people actually wrote something about it. I only listened to "Pancakes" but my headline says it all - Thank God it was free and short!
