Historia
Should I Stay or Should I Go? is a survival manual, a guidebook, and a shot of reality. Some people will never change, and kissing frogs is the stuff of fairy tales, not real life. The Beast never turns out to be a nice guy (or gal). This is a book that breaks down what mean people do to us, how they do it, and what we can do to survive.

Definitely recommend the listen, especially if you’re unable to read her book. I have seen interviews she has been on before on different YouTube channels and I liked what she had to say. I was glad to finally listen to her audio book and keep it for future reference.

Historia
It’s 2006. After a string of rejections from men who tell her they could never, ever, ever see her “that way,” awkward third-grade teacher Micaela Blei signs up for a mysterious course called “The Divine Feminine,” and feels like she might have found the key to the perfect life. Turns out if you’re an A student, you can get an A in anything–including men. Pretty soon she’s learning to "conjure" her desires with vision boards, flirtations, and even a daring jumbotron viewing party for her, ahem ... "divine center."

I didn’t know how much I needed this
Revisado: 02-24-25
I love that Micaela Blei wrote this story to tell anyone who would listen. I love that she read it herself. Ms. Blei is the best friend ‘sister goddess’ I have ever had and never knew. I loved the story. I laughed, I gasped, and for a moment my eyes watered. I connected so well that I hope someday we can meet in real life. In the end I loved this listen and I instantly want to share it with my current best friend, and I want to reach out to Ms. Blei herself. There is no more important relationship you can have than the one you have with yourself. The rest is just gravy.

Historia
It’s not always easy to tell when you’re dealing with a narcissist. One day they draw you in with their confidence and charisma, the next they gaslight you, wreck your self-confidence, and leave you wondering, What could I have done differently? As Dr. Ramani Durvasula reveals in It's Not You, the answer is: absolutely nothing. Just as a tiger can’t change its stripes, a narcissist won’t stop manipulating and invalidating you. To heal in the aftermath of their abuse and protect yourself from future harm, you first have to accept that you are not to blame.

Better than I anticipated
Revisado: 03-09-24
I liked that the author narrated her own audiobook, and I felt like she did a good job of it. It felt more authentic to hear her message from her own perspective. I have learned so much from this book that I will certainly listen to it a few times and use the exercises she suggested. For anyone hoping to heal, this is a fantastic listen.

Historia
Our most commonly held formula for success is broken. Conventional wisdom holds that once we succeed, we’ll be happy; that once we get that great job, win that next promotion, lose those five pounds, happiness will follow. But the science reveals this formula to be backward: Happiness fuels success, not the other way around.

I use the information in this book as a personal reference guide. The first time I listened to it I felt like I had stumbled upon a priceless work of art. My thinking was completely rewired. As a result I am eternally grateful for hearing Shawn’s MasterClass on my Calm app subscription. The second time I listened after a few years gone. It continues to resonate with me and help me benefit and see the benefits of the happiness advantage. It will remain in my library for as long as I live to use and reuse for many more happy years to come. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone who needs the tools to allow happiness into their lives, and who needs a boost.

I discovered Jay Shetty from the Calm app, for which he gives a daily meditation. Jay narrated his book himself. There is so much great information in this book that I know I will need to listen to it several times and possibly even take notes!

In her hit Netflix comedy special Baby Cobra, an eight-month pregnant Ali Wong resonated so strongly that she even became a popular Halloween costume. Wong told the world her remarkably unfiltered thoughts on marriage, sex, Asian culture, working women, and why you never see new mom comics on stage but you sure see plenty of new dads.

Best Six+ hours spent listening
Revisado: 03-08-23
As the title suggests, this book is presented as a letter to her daughters, Ali captivated me with her narrative. I enjoy her comic sets very much, but this was more personal. After genuine bouts of tears, laughter, and tears of laughter, I felt so connected with her in so many different ways. I can’t wait to listen to this all over again, and hope to support her upcoming live performances when she’s on tour. She is so amazing and such an inspiration to me, I fear my words are too cliche for a sincere review.

Words. We use them all the time, every day, mostly without giving them much thought at all. We take for granted that they’re here at our disposal whenever we need them. But if you’ve ever wished you could communicate more effectively, words are the place to start. It’s incumbent upon you to choose the best words to accomplish your goals, because how you choose to communicate influences—well, everything! The power of communication shapes our professional goals, our relationships, and our lives—so the words we choose to use carry a great deal of power.

Gave it a chance and liked it in the end
Revisado: 02-24-23
At first listen I wasn’t feeling open to this audio book because the narration seems a bit on the “chipper” side which gave me a sense of possible false positivity. However, upon further listening, I opened my mind to the narration style and I found the information itself quite useful, whether it was a reiteration of some concepts I already knew or it was new information I learned. I enjoyed a couple of anecdotes and quotes throughout and there was enough information in here for me to give it another listen so I can take notes. Also, I appreciate that this title is a free resource.

No matter how much advice we get or how much work we do on our “stuff,” nothing ever seems to make the difference. The truth of it is, you’re woefully ill-equipped for one of the most life-defining things you will ever take on—being in a committed relationship. Whether you’re currently in one, want to be in one, half in–half out, getting over one, married, single, separated, divorced, or just overwhelmed with the whole thing, let’s cut through the morass of relationship schtick and put you back in charge.

Not for the faint of heart
Revisado: 01-13-23
If you are looking to be coddled, this is not the book for you. Bishop delivers the narrative of his own book with a sense of tough love for heathy relationships. What drew me in was his accent. What kept me interested? The sincerity in his voice, the wisdom of his words and the occasional funny quips along the way. I recommend this book particularly for people who grew up with (are at least familiar with) and or still live by the “suck it up, buttercup” attitude in life.

We already rely on science to tell us what to eat, when to exercise, and how long to sleep. Why not use science to help us improve our relationships? In this revolutionary book, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Dr. Amir Levine and Rachel Heller scientifically explain why some people seem to navigate relationships effortlessly, while others struggle.

Well worth the listen. Definitely Recommend it.
Revisado: 09-12-21
There is so much you can learn from this audio book. So to learn about yourself and the way you relate to your partner, your children, your peers, your family and anyone you have a relationship with. That said, the focus is on couples relationships. I liked most of this audiobook, and wholeheartedly recommend this listen (or read if you have the print). The only thing I didn’t agree with was the part where they mention if you are one attachment type, say anxious and your partner is avoidant type, that you two are incompatible (specifically during dating). However, they do mention something critical about the main body of research, and it is that attachment styles are not permanent. People who want to change their patterns and behaviors can do so by learning and applying what they learned and by applying secure style behaviors vigilantly. Thereby, their attachment style remains dynamic. You can start out as anxious and move into secure. You can also move from secure to avoidant. It all depends on the partner and what attachment style they are exhibiting and whether or not the partner desires to change their own patterns and behaviors for the betterment of the relationship.
