Historia
Mo Collins, the reluctant hero, has sailed around the country on board the replica pirate ship, the Viva Ancora, and now he finds himself only miles from his childhood home. But now the world has gone to hell. Hordes of naked, blue, biting zombies have flooded the now dead Alabama lake town. Mo and his only surviving shipmate, Crow, spend their days fishing and their nights watching the monsters roam, seeking untainted flesh and leaving a disgusting mess in their wake.

Decent story, narration not so much
Revisado: 05-19-23
The story line here is good, maybe a little juvenile in it's premise. As the series went on, it got even more and more ridiculous. This narrator should NEVER attempt a modern southern accent again...EVER! it was terrible! And his voice change for the smokes character was horrible, to the point of being offensive. I would have rather he read in his normal voice and allow the listener to create it in their imagination.
Salzman, give up the voice and inflection changes. stick to your normal voice and leave the others alone!

This series started out with massive promise, which is what has kept me coming back to this point. Seems like ZF4 and ZF5 both had similar problems. I found myself drifting away in my personal thoughts as the story bounced to flashback after flashback that didn't have any bearing on the story. Sometimes I'd catch myself thinking, "WTH?" when there would suddenly be a jump to a completely unrelated side story.
I thoroughly enjoy Sean Runnette's reading, he nails the sarcasm evident in Mike Talbot. The writing needs to be reigned in I think. IMO, time to put this series to bed, How 'bout a little closure for this one, Mark Tufo? Wrap it up!

Decent little adventure
Revisado: 03-23-10
This was decent for an adventure/action book. Think Indiana Jones meets The Da Vinci Code and you're getting the general idea. I enjoyed the narration, aside from the attempt at the female austrailian accent, the rest was quite good. I would recommend this book to anyone who was looking for a relatively exciting read with the author delving a bit into the backgrounds of the heroes without overdoing it. In my opinion, worth the price for a listen.

Historia
In the summer of 1942, a band of citizen soldiers were brought together by the desire to be better than the other guy. At its peak, Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army, was as good a rifle company as any in the world. From their rigorous training in Georgia in 1942 through Utah Beach, Market-Garden, the Bulge, and Hitler's Eagle's Nest, WWII historian Stephen Ambrose tells the story of this remarkable company.

excellent story
Revisado: 02-24-10
This is an excellent story! Stephen Ambrose makes the reader, or listener in this case, feel like they are actually one of these men. You feel all the tragedy, the fog of war, the heartbeat pounding in your ears as you run with Easy company across a field of fire. Amazing men at a terrible time in world history. This would have gotten 5 stars from me, but the narrator lacked a bit of enthusiasm in reading. I listened to this at the gym and found myself unable to turn it off after my workouts! If you've seen the HBO series, then you have to read or hear the book. It really makes the whole experience come to life.
