I really enjoy the story and the premis. The author did a very nice job of showing the emotional and psychological struggles of the two main characters. The narration, however, was not great. It seemed poorly spiced together with a number of awkward pauses and sudden changes in pitch and tone sometimea even midsentence as though different takes we're thrown together without thought to continuity. While there are some well done scenes, much the narrative was also flat with attempts to show emotion coming off very forced.

Would you try another book from Jacqueline Carey and/or Johanna Parker?
I love Jacqueline Carey and this series, but this audio book was extremely disappointing. It consistently skipped and had gaps. Sometimes it would resume where it left off, and sometimes is skipped chunks of the story. I have never had this problem with one of these audio books, but if I have it again, I'll definitely reconsider my membership.
