Interesting but it didn’t hold together as a story
Revisado: 04-29-25
This was an interesting story with a lot of depth about the conflict in the Middle East. I really liked that. But for me, this book was made up of several different stories that didn’t hold together as a whole. I think the author was more interested in explaining the mechanics of fighting terrorism more than anything. And wasn’t a female character supposed to be from South Africa? Well, she definitely had an Australian accent, which was distracting. But overall, I would probably listen to another one of Amir’s books because of its detail about Middle East warfare. (Not on the level of Joel Rosenberg yet.)

Bernard Hinault is "Le Blaireau", the Badger. Tough as old boots, he is the old warrior of the French peloton, as revered as he is feared for his ferocious attacks. He has won five Tours de France, marking his name into the history books as a member of cycling's most exclusive club. Yet as the 1986 Tour de France ascends into the mountains, a boyish and friendly young American named Greg LeMond threatens the Badger - and France's entire cycling heritage.

Very interesting with in-depth research
Revisado: 09-15-23
Although Joel Rosenberg’s books are somewhat predictable, I love all the research he brings into the story. Rosenberg paints a very believable picture of what could be.

I zipped through the entire series in less than two months. I got addicted from the beginning! Marcus Ryker was an inspiring hero. When will one of Rosenberg’s books be turned into a movie?

Revisado: 05-17-23
Joel Rosenberg keeps writing excellent material. That is good until the last period of the book.
Yes, it took a while to get used to the narration but as I continue to listen, I quite enjoyed the narrators voice.
Can’t wait to listen to the next Rosenberg thriller!

Historia
More than 40 years after it ended, the Vietnam War continues to haunt our country. We still argue over why we were there, whether we could have won, and who was right and wrong in their response to the conflict. When the war divided the country, it created deep political fault lines that continue to divide us today. Now, continuing in the tradition of their critically acclaimed collaborations, the authors draw on dozens and dozens of interviews in America and Vietnam to give us the perspectives of people involved at all levels of the war.

I never understood the Vietnam war until now
Revisado: 12-14-22
This is a long book, but well worth the time spent. So many older Americans like me have never understood the Vietnam war. I was a 60s child and the Vietnam war was all around us. I have friends whose lives were shattered by the war. This book help me understand the utter fruitfulness of the conflict, and the devastation is brought both onto a beautiful country in Southeast Asia and to the American people. Although both countries have recovered, since “the war“ it has forever changed the lives of countless millions of families. “War, what is a good for? Absolutely nothing“ (Edwin Starr).

Historia
In Gay Girl, Good God, author Jackie Hill Perry shares her own story, offering practical tools that helped her in the process of finding wholeness. Jackie grew up fatherless and experienced gender confusion. She embraced masculinity and homosexuality with every fiber of her being. She knew that Christians had a lot to say about all of the above. But was she supposed to change herself? How was she supposed to stop loving women, when homosexuality felt more natural to her than heterosexuality ever could?

Story of God’s love well told
Revisado: 11-12-18
I bought this book to gain a better perspective of the gay community and how to as a white, married, Christian man come to a better understanding of the path they walk. And I got that. But what I also got—quite unexpectedly—was a tremendously valuable perspective of God who calls us to bring our whole being into relationship with Him.
