Historia
You’ve heard of an Essex Girl or even a Chelsea Girl, but what about a Hounslow Girl? Definition of a Hounslow Girl: a young Muslim woman who wears hooped earrings with her headscarf and grapples with traditional values while hustling her way through urban London. The Diary of a Hounslow Girl is a bold and provocative one-person play, written and performed by Ambreen Razia. From the joys of traditional Pakistani weddings to fights on the night bus, this is a comic story of dreams, aspirations and coming of age, told through the eyes of a 16-year-old British Muslim girl.

Compelling story Bad Sound
Revisado: 12-29-18
American audiences may struggle to understand the English language used here. Very London. Good storyline, good delivery spoilt by very bad soundmix. In fact if the story was less compelling I would have given up halfway through because of the bad audio mix.

Historia
Continuing the history of the Irish Darcys begun in Missus and continued in The Harp in the South, this third novel of the trilogy re-acquaints listeners with the vicissitudes of slum life in a Sydney suburb. An unforgettable family and a cast of unforgettable characters enliven a story that is sometimes tragic, but often humourous, in a time of poverty and destitution, hope and promise.

superb read

What about Peter Forbes’s performance did you like?
Peter Forbes read of this Peter May book is "superb". The pronunciation of the very difficult Gaelic words throughout the book are delivered perfectly. His performance makes this complex story line live.
Excellent.

Great Story, mixed performence
Revisado: 04-22-12
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Love this book and all 3 in the series. Great thought provoking storyline.
Did Tom Weiner do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
appalling Australian accents and pronunciation of Australian names...most disappointing.
