Historia
Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare.

Be ready to cry
Revisado: 02-15-10
This book touches a part of your very inner being. It puts a face on the Trinity in a way I could not have imagined. We cannot know why horrible things happen in life but we can know that God's plan is foe us to live in commune with him. The narrator was just wonderful and played the different characters very well. This is one of those books you could just sit and listen to from beginning to end without stopping. Inspirational, sorrowful and joyful all in one.

Historia
It was a time when anything seemed possible, instant wealth, glittering fame, fabulous luxury, and for a run of magical weeks in the spring and summer of 1920, Charles Ponzi made it all come true. Promising to double investors' money in three months, the dapper, charming Ponzi raised the "rob Peter to pay Paul" scam to an art form and raked in millions at his office in downtown Boston.

Loved It
Revisado: 02-15-10
I always like reading about how certain phrases or actions get into society. This one was very intriguing and at times I felt sorry for Ponzi. He started out with honest motives but got in over his head. An interesting story that puts a friendly face on one of the most ridiculed ways of thievery.

What a phenomenal book. I felt as though I was there while the story was being told. This gave it so much more context and visualization than just reading the bible alone. The reader did an outstanding job and lends her voice well to a multitude of characters. Very well worth the read.

Did Columbus believe that God called him west to undiscovered lands? Does American democracy owe its inception to the handful of Pilgrims that settled at Plymouth? If, indeed, there was a specific, divine call upon this nation, is it still valid today?

Outstanding resource for Christian Americana
Revisado: 01-02-08
This was an excellent book which in my opinion should be taught as a history lesson in schools. It reaffirms with great zeal what our country was founded upon, Christianity. The words as written and recorded by our forefathers tell all about there utmost belief in our savior Jesus Christ. Not to mention there view of why America was founded in the first place, you'll have to read the book to find out.
The narrator took me a little while to tune into his repitoire but once done he was easy to listen to. Would have been nice for a Guidall or the like to have read it. All in all I highly recommend it.

Bill O'Reilly is the very embodiment of the idea of a Culture Warrior, and in this book he lives up to the title brilliantly, with all the brashness and forthrightness at his command. He sees that America is in the midst of a fierce culture war between those who embrace traditional values and those who want to change America into a "secular-progressive" country.

Historia
This novel by Carl Hiaasen, author of Tourist Season and Native Tongue, begins as most thrillers do, with a killing. But this is no everyday, hum-drum, garden variety killing. Our hero, Nick Stranahan, a 42-year-old private investigator who has killed five men and been married five times, skewers his attacker's aorta with the razor-sharp bill of a stuffed marlin.

In typical Hiaasen fashion this book lives up to his wicked sense of humor. The way he writes his stories make you feel as though you're in the story & can't wait for the next hilarious character to surface.
Anyone who has listened to Hiaasen will certainly love this one. Its also a great introduction to new listeners.
A must hear.

Historia
They call themselves the Brethren: three disgraced former judges doing time in a Florida federal prison. One was sent up for tax evasion. Another, for skimming bingo profits. And the third, for a career-ending drunken joyride. Meeting daily in the prison law library, taking exercise walks in their boxer shorts, these judges-turned-felons can reminisce about old court cases, dispense a little jailhouse justice, and contemplate where their lives went wrong.
