Great but rushed pacing.

I really liked a lot of the beginning sketches of the characters in this book, but the whole thing feels rushed. I am not a fan of long winded expose, but I would have loved to learn more before we where thrown into the action at the end of the book. The transitions were fast and didn’t always make logical sense to be happening.
Great first effort, just wish we were able to know some of the characters more.

Writing that is off the Chain!

Steve Wetherell has another great book with tons of unexpected and hilarious turns. I love the fact that just when I think things are going well they turn bad and visa versa.
CC Hogan adds so much to the feeling of the book it is like listening to another equally good book.
I can’t wait to hear what they do with the next one.

I loved Ready Player One. Hated Armada

What made the experience of listening to Armada the most enjoyable?
I still love all of the references, although I will agree with other reviewers that there seemed to be less need for them.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lexi, she was smart and sassy.
Have you listened to any of Wil Wheaton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
While good, I think that it wasn't quite as good as the reading of Ready Player One. (This is mostly due to his voicing of Graham.)
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did not. I was disappointed that I did not love it the way that I love RPO, but this listening I was trying to eliminate the expectations that I have after RPO.
Any additional comments?
It is really important to listen to this book on its own merit. For most people, RPO is soooooo good that they expected this book to be the same. I think Ernest Cline really tried to capture the feel of RPO, and there are elements of it. If most of us didn't all have RPO in mind while listening to this I think this would be a decent book and a fun ride.
