Historia
I came to Black Veil for a new start. A chance to find myself again, and maybe learn how to control my unruly magic. Instead, I've somehow bonded myself to three amazing men, found out I'm mated to my childhood best friend, and my magic grows more unstable by the day.

It has kept my interest…great series
Revisado: 01-13-24
By the time I get to the third book in a series, I’m ready for it to be done because I’m bored. But this one has done a good job at keeping my interest. I’ve read them all and wanted to listen as well. I really like the male narrator. I love his voice for Dom and Roran especially. It just really makes Ror’s character hearing it acted out. I think the female is a good narrator. She has a distinct way of ending her sentences that I had to adjust to and is also overly dramatic during intense scenes but it’s not terrible and I’ve gotten used to it. I just think it’s her way of trying to get the emotions across. I am enjoying hearing both the male snd female voices acting out the scenes simultaneously. They do an amazing job together.

Pretty good overall
Revisado: 03-22-22
Considering this was a love story between a 19 year old girl and a 38 year old man, I had preconceived ideas about the story. Jordan wasn’t annoying and it didn’t feel “dirty.” I enjoyed the narrators but I did not like the female narrator’s voice for Pike. It was a bit immature sounding. Not that she didn’t do a good job with the rest, but I kind of wished the male narrator was reading the whole story. Overall, it was a good story and entertaining. It got a little angsty at times and I did speed it up.

Revisado: 10-31-21
Each book gets better and better. Chess has been through some things and her and Terrible are breaking my heart! Terrible is so delicious. I love that these characters are perfect in their imperfections and the narrator is wonderful.

Great listen
Revisado: 10-28-21
I love this narrator. She does such an amazing job with the characters and the cadence of the words. The world building is so good. Chess keeps making bad decisions and I’m expecting to see some growth in the future books. This was a great book. Some heartbreak but Terible in Chapter 19…mmm yeah.

A surprise
Revisado: 10-26-21
I didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as I did. I loved the narrator. She did an excellent job on voices. My only complaint was that sometimes she made Chess come off a little whiny. Either it didn’t bother me as much by the end or she got better at that but I stopped noticing it as much. Of course, I love Terible. Love love love him.

One of my favorites in the series
Revisado: 03-26-21
This book was one of my favorites in the series so far. There is A LOT less self blame and guilt on Jane’s part and it seems she is beginning to be more comfortable with who she is and with Beast. Her partners and other allies make her more likeable. Although the story is good, I think the narrator makes the overall book excellent. I love this narrator. She’s amazing.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 03-11-21
Overall, I did enjoy this book. It kept me captivated. I like the narrator. She does a great job with all the accents. One thing that annoys me about the book is that Jane takes on the guilt for everything and those around her let her. Not everything is her fault. Her self-flagellation gets old and frustrating. I feel like her “Christianity” is a forced tie to her humanity and vulnerability. I guess there are other stories that introduce Jane so maybe it wouldn’t ring as false if I had read those. And I don’t like her with Rick.

Poor narration
Revisado: 11-17-20
I couldn’t finish this book. The narrator was stilted with little emotion. The story might be great but I couldn’t get past the narration to know and so couldn’t get a feel for the characters.
