I was surprised at how beautifully written this book is, which added to the joy of listening to it. Harry gives a detailed, balanced portrait of his life, family and passions. From his heart-rending denial of his mother's death, his harrowing encounters with and takedown of the press, to his nail-biting missions in the military, from his love for Botswana to his love for Meagan - his memoirs are at once melancholy, humorous and heart-warming, evoking outrage, wonder and fondness. I'm sure I'll be listening to this again.

Admirable and inspiring woman

I thoroughly enjoyed Billie Jean King's life story and her telling of it. I had always admired her, but after hearing her inspiring story, I admire her even more! She is as hard-working as she is dedicated to the causes in her heart, and so many people have her to thank for the things she has fought for and continues to fight for. I also enjoyed her insider's view of the tennis circuit and how she was able to continually improve her game. I appreciate the fact that she choked up while reading in the places where I also muffled a sob or a cheer.

Billy Porter's book and his reading of his own experiences is profound, thrilling, heartbreaking and highly entertaining. I found myself alternately with tears in my eyes, then chuckling, so many times. This is an honest, melancholy and extremely hopeful work all in one. "Theater geeks" like me will also appreciate Porter's dedication to detail in describing the long, hard road his profession has put him on. He is a true gift to the stage and to humankind!

The production of this series is slick and professional, right down to the intrigue-inspiring soundtrack. The story is as fascinating as it is incredible. The inclusion of original interviews and recordings is the icing on the cake. Well done!

Endearing and well worth it!

Kevin Hart tells his story in a self-deprecating, honest and extremely humorous way. The chapters are short and end with the "life lessons" he has learned in the respective experiences. His style is very natural, making it seem as if he is talking off the cuff, often with witty results.

David's done it again.

David Sedaris as only he can write and tell a story, a poignant and funny collection with a spotlight on his family members, both living and gone, and a focus that has grown to age with the material. A book that expresses the contemplation, hilarity, pain, erratic excesses and mature dilemmas of aging as a son and brother within this family unit, and touching base in the beach house at its center.

Honest and insightful, brilliantly read

A thoroughly enjoyable biography that provides an intimate look at Robbie the artist and human, disposing with false rumors and opening up the humorous, intelligent and vulnerable person that Williams is. The book benefits from the proximity of its author to Robbie as a friend and confidante. The quality of the narration cannot be topped, as Joe Jameson does spot-on voices of Robbie and others. It was like having Williams right in my ear!

Jaw-dropping honesty

Stunning, honest, thrilling and endearing. Listening to Noah perform this book provides the added bonus of hearing his admirable linguistic skills, from his command of several languages to his imitation of his mother, whom, effective immediately, I now officially adore. The book is not only a revealing look at Noah's childhood, but also a source of insight into growing up under Apartheid and its aftermath. His story is told so colorfully and expressively that I couldn't help thinking it must become a movie, and I couldn't help being shocked to learn that I had reached the end after such a wild ride. My hat is off to Trevor Noah!
