Like the story but the narrator was a tab overly dramatic for my taste. I fished the book but wonder if I want to go through another.

Cute, quirky batty fun

I found myself humming so many of the song mentioned in this book. Fun and entertaining with great bat facts added for your edification. Really enjoyed this on and completely safe for kids to listen along.

Another great story

Another great story by CJ box! While lacking vehicle destruction, this story is well constructed using characters we have grown to love and hate. Sadly, losing a couple of characters from previous books while new, disturbing and incompetent characters are surfacing for new adventures ahead. This book is not only the weak of heart or stomach as it can be graphic at times. Enjoyed Joe’s adventure as always and look forward to the next book.

The narrator makes it worse

I like the story but the narrator has no change of tone. If you want to nap, she is the narrator for you.

Fun listen

I have enjoyed the that 4 books but this one is VERY long. It could have been two books. The plot didn’t go the way I thought it would so I guess I’m glad I pre ordered books 6.

Quirky and entertaining

I really was not sure about this book in the beginning, however it quickly grew on me for the quirky characters and sense of humor.
The sheriff is a widowed, spider feeding guy who is clueless about romance and his warm look just about killed me with laughter. He takes is 75 year old ex sheriff gun crazy father along on this adventure for his birthday and the amount of fried food these guys at gave me high cholesterol just hearing about it. His CSI crew is a guy named Lurch.
Overall a pretty good plot but the characters are, for me, the most entertaining part of the story.

Kinda the same but different

I really enjoyed Ready player one so when Ready player two came along, I listened to them back to back. The books are similar in set up and the characters are the same but the chapters having to do with Prince literally made me laugh and sing and smile! As a teenager in the 80’s these books brought back so many great memories. Of course the music is big in this book and I was left with several ear worms.
Interesting twist, that I should have seen coming at the end of the book, but I’m not the kind of person to guess where the books adventure is going to take me, so that was a different way to end the story. Definitely, this pair of books has found a place in my top ten list of favorite books.

Too much fun

As a huge Jane Yellowrock fan, I have read every book I could get my hands on. This one was a fast furious ride thru an alternate universe for both characters. Definitely going to explore more books from C.E. Murphy.
