Too repative
Revisado: 09-28-24
Too repetitive -
Don’t know how these books got to be so popular. I find them tedious repetitive and the women aren’t that bright either. The narration is enough to make you rip your hair out.
If it’s a male speaking, use a male. I listened to the whole series and I came away with nothing but these women need coffee every two hours and worry about stupid stuff.
In real life, no supervisor would ever get away with the abuse. It does not ring true.

Historia
It was meant to be Caitlin's perfect summer, but betrayed by her best friend and her boyfriend, she finds herself hitchhiking home alone, heartbroken, and penniless. When a smiling family pulls up on the roadside to help her on her way, she's relieved at first - they seem friendly, normal. And when they offer her a warm bed in their cottage for the night, she's grateful - it's not safe for young women travelling alone in the dark, and she's in no rush to get home, where she knows a grave secret is due to blow her family apart.

This is an amazing story
Revisado: 07-09-24
Jane Bailey is such a talented writer. This is no ordinary “murder-mystery”.
She has captured the era of the 2020 pandemic in captivating, understated prose.
It’s a page turner for sure. There are too many cliches I could offer but none would do justice to her skills as a first rate writer.
The performance is done well. No strange voices. Just the dialog of a family and friends that is not forced or overly dramatic. It’s all enjoyable and believable.

I disliked all of this book
Revisado: 05-03-24
The narrators were difficult to listen to and the plot was outrageously stupid. The more I listened the angrier it made me that I wasted my time on this.
The book was written for a 5th grader - save your time

This is a horrible book.
Revisado: 03-20-24
Not a thing to like. The story was unrealistic. It sounded more like the author published a story she wrote for “creative writing 101”.
I purchased it on sale but even on sale, it still wasn’t worth my time.

This is a horrible story that should come with a warning. This is not how psychiatric disorders should be presented. Should have done research the author blew it with this one.

She’s fixated on weight. I think this author has an eating disorder.
Revisado: 02-17-24
I lost track of how many times she pointed out, Fat People and overweight, especially the women in the group. It has nothing to do with the plot. It’s just a lot of fat shaming.

Revisado: 02-09-24
I’m sorry I wasted my time and money on this book. The narrator is horrible and the story is just stupid! I just wanted it to be over. I hated ALL the characters.

Don’t bother - it’s too depressing
Revisado: 12-03-23
This is one of the most depressing books I’ve ever listened to. Who let this go out to audible?
I bought it on sale but I still want to return it. Just because she wrote a few books, does that mean Audible will sell anything she writes?
The whole SHORT STORY made me sick. No happy endings here.
I think the author should go back to her “day job”.

Aaron Fortin is new in town. He drives a brand-new Acura—a gift from his parents for uprooting him in the middle of senior year. Showing up on his first day at the local public school in that nice of a car? He knows he’ll never blend in, and he doesn’t care to try. The car, the new-kid mystique, he can use all that.... Crystal Giordano carpools to the same school in her friend Trevor’s beat-up van. In the van along with Crystal and Trevor are Paul, Harmony, and Gayle. Crystal’s technically part of their misfit group, but most of the time, she feels like she’s the only one who doesn’t fit.

This book should be burned!
Revisado: 11-18-23
I have listened to 2 of her other books but this one should have never gone past the edit. I kept listening, hoping it would get better. IT DIDN’T. It gets worse with every chapter.
The plot makes no sense. The “abuse” was intolerable and I found the whole book to be gross, unbelievable plot and just plain stupid.
After 40 chapters I set my app to double speed to get it over with.
This feels like I’ve been robbed of time, money and a bit nauseous.
