Historia
The Hunter from the Woods marks the much-anticipated return of Michael Gallatin, the lycanthropic hero of Robert McCammon’s 1989 classic, The Wolf’s Hour. These all-new, interlinked stories offer a full measure of McCammon’s trademark narrative excitement, and comprise a fascinating composite portrait of a unique fictional creation.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
Not for me to change it.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The ending was the very best part of the book and proof that Mr. McCammon intends to return to the world of Michael Galatin!
Which character – as performed by Simon Prebble – was your favorite?
Michael Gallatin.
Love Mr. Rebble's voice. Love his inflection. He was perfect and I would love to hear more books performed by him.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
The stories are too thin to make for a satisfying movie, but would be great episodes for a television series.

Historia
McCullough's John Adams has the sweep and vitality of a great novel. This is history on a grand scale, an audiobook about politics, war, and social issues, but also about human nature, love, religious faith, virtue, ambition, friendship, and betrayal, and the far-reaching consequences of noble ideas. Above all, it is an enthralling, often surprising story of one of the most important and fascinating Americans who ever lived.

First Father of American Independence
Revisado: 05-05-14
What did you love best about John Adams?
Tells the story of the most neglected founding father of the U.S.A. That Adams was a thinker whose ideas shaped the Constitution. That he was one of the first and most vehement in calling and FIGHTING for American independence from England. That he fought for his whole life for his ideas. That he lived out his old age in happiness and died a fine death. (I tire of biographies of men I admire whose final days are marked by misfortune, tragedy and loss).
What was one of the most memorable moments of John Adams?
When Adams secured the acknowledgement and formal recognition of the sovereignty of The United States of America as an Independent State by the Dutch Government.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
This is the main reason I'm writing this review. Perhaps this was suggested by the producer, but the reader has the incredibly annoying habit of taking long pauses between sections of the book. Presumably this is to "mark" the divisions, but it just made me wonder if my reader had failed.Another thing that is a particular pet peeve of mine (and might not even be noticed by others), is that I detest "mouth noises" when listening to an audio book. This includes, smacking, dry, pasty mouth sounds, breathing noises and the like. Surely these can be eliminated with judicious miking or filtering?
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The moment above brought me to tears. Also, the trials and death of Adams' daughter, Nabby.

Historia
The rousing story of Lafayette - “adopted son” of George Washington - and his vital role in the American Revolution. In this long-overdue history of Marquis Gilbert de Lafayette, acclaimed French author Gonzague Saint Bris recounts Lafayette’s invaluable contributions to the American War of Independence and, later, the French Revolution of 1789.

A History of France in the time of Lafayette
Revisado: 05-05-14
What would have made Lafayette better?
If it had focused on Lafayette. This book is about France and the doings there during Lafayette's lifetime FAR more than Lafayette. It's as if the book was written and the publisher decided a book on Lafayette would sell better, and instructed the author to pad the book with a few extra Lafayette sequences.
Would you ever listen to anything by Gonzague Saint Bris again?
No.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
He could have chosen a better book to read or one whose subject matched the title.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The last couple of chapters focused on Lafayette and were, thus, what I was looking to hear.
Any additional comments?
I came away with no greater understanding of Lafayette's contribution to the Revolutionary War than before. Got almost not indication of WHY Lafayette was considered such an important General in the war. Will be looking for another book for that, I guess.

NOT A BOOK ON SELF-ESTEEM
Revisado: 02-23-13
Would you try another book from Nathaniel PhD Branden and/or Nathaniel PhD Branden?
I have read all of Dr. Branden's works and recommend them unreservedly. This, however is NOT a book about Self-Esteem. It is nothing more than a guided meditation. Might be worthwhile, but it was definitely NOT worth the credit I wasted on it. This was like a supplement to the book I THOUGHT I was buying.
I would ask for my money back, but a deal is a deal.
What do you think your next listen will be?
E. E. "Doc" Smith's "Skylark of Space."
Have you listened to any of Nathaniel PhD Branden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. "The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem" is GREAT. His magnum opus. Very worthwhile.
What character would you cut from Experience High Self-Esteem?
Not applicable. Not fiction.
Any additional comments?
This needs to be properly described. Absolutely NOT worth the credit I wasted on it. This might be worthwhile, but it is not what it purports to be. I thought I had somehow advanced my reader to the last chapter, but this is it.
