Historia
With their supplies reclaimed and food enough for the future, the group at Barry's cabin can do more than just scrape by. Between fruitful gardens, great friends, and sturdy fences—not to mention karaoke—life in the zompoc is better than ever. Nothing is perfect, however. Across the country, safe zones are mysteriously going dark, and Oregon's summer weather has turned the forest into a tinderbox. As the unknown danger closes in and smoke begins to fill the sky, the survivors are all too aware of how quickly plans unravel, fences fall, and luck runs out.

Good but not great
Revisado: 08-17-24
I have really enjoyed this series so far and look forward to the next installment! That being said the book takes way too long to get into the plot. There is way too much time spent on character development of characters we already know. And the whole Rose/Tom love affair makes me want to gag, it is way over done for zompoc book, or any book IMO anyway, I am a guy and I think these books are more geared for women.

Great character development
Revisado: 07-12-24
Loved the great character development. The end dragged on and on . The tribe didn’t face enough adversity. But overall the book kept me wanting more , which for a long book like this one is rare. If you have the time this is definitely worth a listen, and would definitely give another book by this author a listen or read. The narrator was very good too!

Nice and nice … keeps a good pace not too fast not too slow . He is really starting to flesh out some character development in this one. All and all a great 16 hour listen that I didn’t want to end !

Not literature but a fun listen
Revisado: 10-19-23
Def not a magnum opus , and can get a
Bit on the tedious side when the ship and jack have their dialogue about nothing every other chapter. Narration is top notch, and overall the book is fun. Not sure I’d listen to a sequel though; however , it’s def worth the credit and I would give it a listen if I were you.

Historia
The sequel to the number one Audible Best Seller Earthcore, Mount Fitz Roy continues the tale of Patrick O’Doyle and Bertha Lybrand, who were part of the horror show that occurred far below the mountains of Utah. They learn that the "mother of all motherlodes” discovered there was not unique, that there is another deposit similar to it three miles beneath the towering peak of Cerro Chaltén on the disputed border between Chile and Argentina. O'Doyle, a middle-aged former member of a disgraced black-ops unit, gets his aging team back together to go after this fortune.

Overall very good, couple of shortcomings
Revisado: 07-10-23
For the most part I liked the book a lot. Great narration, pretty good plot, and good follow up to book one. Unfortunately there wasn’t much more character development in this book 2 , and we get the point that Bertha is fat and ugly , I think that point is made close to 50 times, and to make things worse Mr porter gives her a very obnoxious voice. There are some sedations that drag and should be left out. I dunno I enjoyed the listen, it’s far from a literary classic but not many books these days are.

The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

Well worth the credit
Revisado: 05-15-23
Not really my genre , but awesome book. Could
Use a little more action going on , and I don’t mean violence I just mean a little more conflict and nail biting who done it type scenarios. Overall though very good character development. You really feel what the protagonists are feeling. Anyway for my 2 cents it was def worth the credit. Not many books I’ve read or listened to in the last few months did I make it past the halfway mark before giving up. A magnum opus this is not and I wish I could give it 4.3 stars. Narration is on point to , Edward does a great job as always. This is my first listen/read of this author and I will def buy the sequel!

Historia
Five years ago, ordinary Americans fell under the grip of a strange new malady that caused them to sleepwalk across the country to a destination only they knew. They were followed on their quest by the shepherds: friends and family who gave up everything to protect them. Their secret destination: Ouray, a small town in Colorado that would become one of the last outposts of civilization. Because the sleepwalking epidemic was only the first in a chain of events that led to the end of the world—and the birth of a new one.

Awesome follow up
Revisado: 12-08-22
A little on the long side , but characters that weren’t in Wanderers get a filled in nicely. The main thing I could have lived without is long drawn out chapters with people talking to AI. Overall it was a well written well crafted book that I won’t soon forget like many others that I’ve read. Keep up the good work Chuck, I’d love read another sequel about how Shanna, Nessi and Benji survive, thrive, or don’t in this new world. Anyways this book is def worth a credit and a listen. Enjoy

this book was absolutely phenomenal, from begining to end both the narrator and the author pull you into this post apocalyptic dystopia, that for Billy is more like utopia and they bring you on a page turning ride that you just can't put down!

hate zombie books, this is a good exception
Revisado: 04-11-22
I usually hate zombie books, but this author turns a zombie book into a true character build and story of survival. so you don't really care if it's zombie that are the antogonist. the narrator is very solid and I have enjoyed the first two books so far. lers see how number 3 is?
