Bashing white men.

I am trying to get past the toxic make bashing throughout this whole series. As a mom of a male I find the author’s constant bashing of white men and men in general very disturbing and offensive. If it continues I will be returning for a refund.

Raunchy

This book is really raunchy. I was not really expecting it and pressed on through because I wanted to see where the story went. A good summary would be beauty and the beast with a fairly decent splattering of porn. The plot is fuzzy or maybe just buried in the super spicy exploits of almost everyone who isn’t too young or dying.
If you like raunchy then you’ll be happy, if not then seek another book.

Title misleading

Have you ever read a book and wondered where the title came from because you don’t get the connection between the title and the contents? That is how I felt about this book. There is a disconnect between the title and what in the actual book.. The story does take place in a bar and there are actually witches in it but the storyline really just evolves around one witch for the most part. It doesn’t mean that the story is terrible but it is sort of the typical midlife woman is left by husband for younger woman and discovers this whole new world that has been hidden from her all of her life up to that point.
The narrator isn’t the worst I’ve ever heard but there’s a weird cadence/ inflection that I think is suppose to be a southern accent. The sound of her voice isn’t horrible, it’s just slightly annoying and her overall performance is decent.

Exceptional storyline, good character development and one of the best narrators I have come across. I will be on the lookout for more books read by Stacey Glemboski.

Sweet Story

I received a credit to purchase this audiobook. First I want to say that I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks and read thousands of books. This was a nonstressful read with no accessive angst which I really liked. The story felt a little rushed but not to the point that you could not enjoy it, only that you want more. The narrator did a good job and I would listen to other books read by her. I do wish that the male characters POV was read by a male narrator only to help me keep the story straight while listening. I tend to multitask while listening to audiobooks and the alternating narrators just make it easier for me to follow along. I enjoyed this book and would purchase/listen to other stories by this author and hope that Rex gets a story with a strong female that reigns him in.

I absolutely loved this book, the story was compelling. The cover was eye grabbing and the narrative was excellent!!
