I have read every book in the Game of Thrones world and this is by far THE best one. It's a tale of friendship and loyalty and the adventures of a Hedge Knight and his squire. I can not recommend this book enough, you will enjoy every moment of it.

This is my first book in the Captivation History series and I have to say I loved it. It's written more like a text book than for entertainment so if you are looking for information this is your book. Just be warn if you are looking for a more narrative history then you might want to look somewhere else. These books are straight to the point, gives the information as it is.

Just like the Movie

This book is almost exactly like the movie with some extra details here and there. A bit more is explained with David and his thinking. That's what is great about books is you can get into someone's mind and know what they are thinking versus just seeing their facial expressions and guessing. My only complaint is what everyone else complains about, the narrator. Tom Taylorson can not do woman's voices or do yelling/screaming voices. He sounds like he is mocking the person. I actually laughed out loud every time he did those voices, which was great for a laugh but it ruined the moment which was suppose to be intense. So overall, great book but you could get away with just watching the movie if you wanted to.

As a huge fan of the Alien universe I found this book quite interesting. There are no Xenomorphs in the entire story, except for in vision form in a Prophets dreams. This story is about the company that created the Covenant colony ship and a group of rebels trying to stop it from launching. What is interesting about this story is we get to see what earth is like during the Alien storyline and it turns out its not going so well. Thus the colony ships to colonize other planets. Overall, there's not a whole lot of new information in this story but it gives you a different perspective of things. Read it if you are a hardcore fan of the series.

I am a huge fan of Ready Player One however Ready Player Two just took one wrong turn after another. First Cline decides to show how WOKE he is with the LGBTQ community by breaking up Wade and Art3mis so Wade can be interested in a character that was born male but identified as female for all of one chapter ending with Wade getting back with Art3mis, Yeah He sure is WOKE. Next Cline stole most of the main story line from other Sci-fi stories, such as Sword Art Online and of course the AI that turns evil and wants to kill humans like Hal-9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey. There was nothing original about this story and it just dragged on forever. Even the cool references from the 80's like the first book had were just way over done in this book and they seem to be forced on us in some WOKE idealism instead of having them make sense in the story. Finally Cline decides to write like a 5 chapter rock band battle against a bunch of different "Princes", or should I say the Artist formerly known as Prince. I get it he died in 2016 RIP but Cline again wants to be WOKE and show people he is cool but the battle dragged on forever and made absolutely no sense. I almost stopped reading the book right there. (There were multiple times when I just wanted to stop) Ultimately I had to force myself to finish the book because I cared about the characters and had to know how it ended for them. The story wraps up fairly well at the end leaving you at least happy for the characters. Honestly, if you aren't a hardcore fan of the first book, do not read this one. Besides hearing Wil Wheaton narrate, this book is a waste of time.

This was by far the best story in the Alien universe. Without giving away too much, It's like a reimagined medieval world with Xenomorphs. I've seen other reviews where people complain they aren't "real Xenomorphs" but true fans know that The Xenomorphs have always evolved differently depending on the environment they are born into so they are a slight variation in this story than they are in the main Alien books or movies. This story is how the Alien universe could be continued. New reimagined worlds that the Xenomorphs fit into perfectly. I would love to see more stories like this in the future.

Point Pleasant, Skinwalker Ranch and now Loch Ness

Like always Redfern has found an angle that doesn't follow the main story. He explores the possibility that something more strange is going on at Loch Ness than just an undiscovered creature and I tend to agree. He tells stories of the Kelpies from Scottish folklore to Occult rituals by Aleister Crowley opening up portals to other dimensions. Redfern has an open mind and that is needed when tackling topics such as these.

I've read other books such as The Hunt for Skinwalker Ranch and The Mothman Prophecies and tend to think that a similar thing is going on here at Loch Ness. The similarities between The Kelpies, Skinwalkers, and Mothman are eerie. Strange creatures showing up and disappearing without leaving any physical evidence but people still claim they have seen them. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the strange and paranormal.

I think most people dont like this book because it doesn't follow the "It was Aliens" angle. Without giving away too much from the book, Redfern took the time and collected information to form the view that it was a government cover up. It has been documented multiple times through out history that governments have done this kind of experiments on people before so why couldn't it be possible in this case? The answer, it is completely possible but people just dont want to believe it because they want Aliens. Alien could be real but governments also do awful things to unwilling people. You have to stay open minded and Redfern indeed does.

I'm just starting to learn about ancient history so I don't know too much outside of the basic stuff but I feel like this book is a great place to start. It's a summary of ancient history starting from the earliest written accounts to the fall of Rome. Take notes of parts you are interested in and you can find more books on those topics. There is like 100 pages of footnotes in the back of the book if you want to dive deeper into areas or you can do your own research and find other books. Overall I think this was a great book and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning Ancient history. The narrator was great too, I listened to it at 2.5 speed and it was still clear and easy to understand.
