Historia
In 2015, wildlife filmmaker Tom Mustill was whale watching when a humpback breached onto his kayak and nearly killed him. A video clip of the event went viral, and Tom found himself inundated with theories about what happened. He became obsessed with trying to find out what the whale had been thinking. He wished he could just ask it. In the process of making a film about his experience, he discovered that might not be such a crazy idea.

Opened my eyes

Absolutely loved this book! I guess I must have been interested or why did I choose it. However it was probably a lazy curiosity! I was spellbound. Science. Easily digestible. Full of people and places and ideas I was I could meet, see, be! Then there are the whales. I’d definitely listen again. Then again. And again. Highly recommend this book.

Historia
When Jem Rosco – sailor, adventurer and local legend – blows into town in the middle of an autumn gale, the residents of Greystone, Devon, are delighted to have a celebrity in their midst. The residents think nothing of it when Rosco disappears again; that’s the sort of man he is. Until the lifeboat is launched to a hoax call-out during a raging storm and his body is found in a dinghy, anchored off Scully Cove, a place with legends of its own. This is an uncomfortable case for DI Matthew Venn.

Loved the story. Loved the old fashioned who dunnit mystery of it all. And very little about the religious sect he was born into.

This stand-alone, all-audio course can be used by those who have little or no knowledge of the language, by those who want to learn or brush up basic conversation skills, and by more advanced learners who require extra audio material to complement their current courses. The ten units or 'conversations' cover the situations you are most likely to find yourself in. They are divided into two parts, with a dialogue in each part.

No breaks, no repeats
Revisado: 01-29-13
What did you like best about Teach Yourself Gaelic Conversation? What did you like least?
They book. Was promoted as good to use in the car. You cannot pause and rewind while driving. The chapter breaks did not correspond to the sections. And they assumed you have understood what you are hearing first time. Not enough clear repetition with English to Gaelic.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Yes
Any additional comments?
Needs to broken into sections which like to the real lessons. Needs to repeat and now rely on listener rewinding. Then it would be good.

Fantastic fantasy

I loved it. The far-fetches story had me hooked and I've listened to it twice so far. Total escapism.

Whining female voice
Revisado: 01-22-06
Ok I enjoyed the book even though you could see what was coming. It reminded me of the double jeopardy movie. The narrator's voice however was fine when representing men, however when he was speaking as a woman, it was a total whine. Now I know some men out there would say this is an accurate representation but I would beg to differ. So I enjoyed the book although the twists were, I thought, quite obvious.
