A ghostly story that is suitable for most ages. The Whispering House is certainly scary, however it is not sexual explicit nor does the author use much if any profanity. There is some gore when he details the injuries of the characters and the ghosts they encounter. The story is engaging and I look forward to the next book in this series.

For those who understand the struggle of life of a wife and mother in the 90’s

I enjoyed this book, even though it’s written by a man about white women trying to survive marriage and children in the 90s while blocking interference from the outside world. It comes across as enlightened and seems to understand, even the racial inequalities and all this while we’re trying to fend off a vampire.

This version is nothing like the tv series so be prepared. The accents of Stephan & Damon are humorous and hard to take. Eliana well just listen for yourself. I don't regret purchasing.
