I love the story and plan to listen to it again, and probably again. However, I would recommend to anyone listening to it to take it with a grain of salt. Just have fun with the book, and don’t take it too serious.

Essential Reading for Serious Readers

After listening to this, I have a sudden urge to ask the chap that wrote the review above mine, “Did you even bother to listen to the Communist Manifesto? Because none of what you wrote in your review is in the book?” I will tell you this, The Manifesto is a brilliant book, that if listened to, or read, with an open mind, will change the way you look at the society around you. I will confess that it is a little dated, but you have to keep in mind that it was published in 1848 (Dickens, Brontë, and Thackeray days), a lot has changed--maybe David Harvey or Richard Wolff will update it someday. Anyhow, a lot of what Marx & Engels say has come to fruition, for instance: globalization, Capitalism’s lack of sustainability, and a lot of class struggle. What hasn’t happened? The workers still haven’t overthrown their corporate masters, and they continue to let themselves and the environment be exploited and destroyed in the name of profit. I recommend this to serious listeners and readers that are interested in learning why our world is the way it is. I do not recommend this book to the casual listener or "Jason Finney’s" of the world.

I love this audiobook.

I have listened to a dozen or more books on vegan lifestyle. But I will listen and relisten to this one because all the practical advice and information in it, and it doesn’t take nine hours to get through. The information on minimalism was eye opening. I would recommend it to everyone. I love the reader too, even with the couple flubs—who’s perfect—-his voice is pleasing. This audiobook is a great introduction to veganism, and great refresher for those like me that want to live a cruelty free existence and leave the planet in better shape than we received it.

Agatha Christie is Amazing

The reason for the low rating of the overall of this title is because it is delivered in it's original form. This makes it difficult to understand. I would have given it much higher marks had I not had to struggle to understand what she was saying throughout.

Epic, Colossal and Saga are lacking in every way.

In years past people would describe their love for a movie by how many times they'd seen it. Or, by how many albums they'd worn out listening to a favorite artist. Shantaram was shared with me by a friend who had personally read and given each copy he read away 20 times. He explained if I could read the first page without wanting to read further he'd find it hard to believe but, I had to read the first page. I've carried on the tradition, and with this review I'll make my case to you the listener. If you're able to finish this production without gaining a new perspective on friendship, love and forgiveness I would find it hard to believe. In that I hope you'll gain as much from this work as I have.

History in a format everyone can enjoy

If you're like me, history whether in college or high school was a perfect way to catch up on the sleep you forfeited studying for classes you cared about. This series of books "Don't Know Much About" has not only confirmed the suspicion I had before listening, I don't know much about, anything. These titles are as much fun to listen to as they are thought provoking. His way of breaking each topic down into segments makes the listening process much easier, you know you're not entering the knowledge abys. I love these books and they are a joy to use for topics of conversation and they've made a better citizen.
