Historia
Following the events in Network Effect, the Barish-Estranza corporation has sent rescue ships to a newly colonized planet in peril, as well as additional SecUnits. But if there's an ethical corporation out there, Murderbot has yet to find it, and if Barish-Estranza can't have the planet, they're sure as hell not leaving without something. If that something just happens to be an entire colony of humans, well, a free workforce is a decent runner-up prize. But there's something wrong with Murderbot; it isn't running within normal operational parameters.

Love Murderbot-Love Kevin R Free
Revisado: 01-22-24
What a perfect marriage of story and voice! These books make me so happy! I love Martha Well’s writing and being able to watch the way Murderbot experiences it’s world and grows. And for me, Kevin R Free is Murderbot and Mensa and Art and all the characters. I can’t get enough of this series- fortunately I enjoy listening to the books over and over between installments!

Historia
For Scott Hatcher, a former television writer turned struggling novelist with a failing marriage to boot, social-distancing and mask-wearing feel like fitting additions to his already surreal life. When his wife Marie and neighbor John Bergman disappear in the middle of the raging COVID-19 pandemic, Scott is naturally mystified and disturbed, but he is also about to learn that his picturesque neighborhood hides more than just the mundane routines of suburban life.

Clever and fun
Revisado: 07-09-23
I enjoyed the sense of humor throughout. A fun read and clever mystery. I liked having COVID as almost a character and the background of the story. Lockdown was very stressful and unusual for most of us. The way the characters felt about it and it’s influence on their behavior made sense and added to the atmosphere.

Feels like Jules Verne

I really enjoyed this adventure!
Revisado: 02-25-22
I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I chose it because I love Tim Curry’s voice. It took me a short time to get hooked but I found myself getting interested in the details and more and more drawn in to the feelings Axel was having finding himself so far underground in such austere and threatening circumstances. A few times I had to take breaks because of the claustrophobia I vicariously experienced. I enjoyed being part of this adventure. For me, Verne’s imaginative story has stood the test of time.

Historia
They destroy plant diseases. They break down toxins. They plough the earth. They transform forests. They’ve survived two mass extinctions, including the one that wiped out the dinosaur. Not bad for a creature that’s deaf, blind, and spineless. Who knew that earthworms were one of our planet’s most important caretakers? Or that Charles Darwin devoted his last years to studying their remarkable achievements?

I love books that change your mind and perspective
Revisado: 04-25-18
I have to admit. I have always liked earth worms but this book educated me about their lives and work in a way that gave me a new respect for their strength, industry and ability to better our shared environment. I enjoyed hearing about the people who love and study them. I was excited to learn about the possibilities for solving waste problems with their help. I am all for books that give me hope! It is a fascinating book and the reader was delightful.
