Historia
In Dangerous Personalities, former FBI profiler Joe Navarro shows listeners how to identify the four most common "dangerous personalities", and analyze how much of a threat each one can be: the Narcissist, the Predator, the Paranoid, and the Unstable Personality. Along the way, listeners learn how to protect themselves both immediately and long-term - as well as how to recover from the trauma of being close to such a destructive force.

Not as insightful as anticipated
Revisado: 03-15-16
I read Joe's book "Just Listen" it was excellent. I was expecting this book to be that good too, but it wasn't. It was bit too much of lists for my liking.

Historia
In this audiobook, leading consultants Dick and Emily Axelrod share a way to meet that enables you to get work done right there in the meeting, an approach they’ve spent 30 years field testing. Using the same work-design principles that transformed the mind-numbing assembly line into the dynamic factory floor and make video games so engaging, they offer a flexible, repeatable process that has already been used to run thousands of productive meetings in all kinds of organizations.

If only all meetings ran like this
Revisado: 10-24-15
Some interesting concepts here about ensuring everyone knows what the meeting is about and the meeting canoe. 'Reading' this book has not significantly altered the way I run my own meetings. However, it has enabled me to better share with and teach others why I do certain actions.

Historia
Communication is essential in a healthy organization. But all too often when we interact with people - especially those who report to us - we simply tell them what we think they need to know. This shuts them down. To generate bold new ideas, to avoid disastrous mistakes, to develop agility and flexibility, we need to practice Humble Inquiry. Ed Schein defines Humble Inquiry as "the fine art of drawing someone out, of asking questions to which you do not know the answer, of building a relationship based on curiosity and interest in the other person."

I'm wondering if this book is more relevant to Americians. To me there was nothing new or revolutionary here.

Historia
Social scientist Brené Brown has ignited a global conversation on courage, vulnerability, shame, and worthiness. Her pioneering work uncovered a profound truth: Vulnerability—the willingness to show up and be seen with no guarantee of outcome—is the only path to more love, belonging, creativity, and joy. But living a brave life is not always easy: We are, inevitably, going to stumble and fall.

Enlightening

Any additional comments?
Being in the IT industry I have experienced 'scrum' before. The versions I've experienced are the dogma and bits that people have wanted to implement. Listening to this book explains the reasons behind things. It makes much more sense than other explanations of scrum and puts a lie to most of the implementations I've seen.

Historia
How you feel about yourself crucially affects virtually every aspect of your life, especially how high in life you are likely to rise. Who and what you think you are shape all your responses. Self-esteem, therefore, becomes the key to success or failure. It is also the key to understanding yourself and others.

Too many sentence stems
Revisado: 03-17-15
Where does The Psychology of High Self-Esteem rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I really liked the knowledge in this book. I didn't like the sentence stems - I prefer to listen and learn, rather than to stop and do the practical exercises.
Would you be willing to try another book from Nathaniel Branden? Why or why not?
For sure, Nathaniel really appeared to know what he was talking about. Someone who has practiced a lot and has learnt much that he is willing to share.
What does Nathaniel Branden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I don't think he brings much.
What did you learn from The Psychology of High Self-Esteem that you would use in your daily life?
The interrelationship between behaviour, self beliefs and self esteem. I will be seeing behaviours as indicators of self esteem, and attempting to practice better behaviours.
