Historia
I was the girl no one looked at twice. Until they saw me. My whole life, no one has had my back. My parents are dead, my adoptive mother is a drug addict, and the mean girls on campus mock me for my scars. So when I end up desperate for money and out of options, I agree to sell the one thing I have left: my innocence. On the night I’m meant to give my body to a brutal Russian mobster, three men storm into the room like dark shadows and kill him before he can claim me. When they drag me from the blood-soaked bed, I’m certain they’re going to kill me too.

Not as good as I remember
Revisado: 04-28-25
i read this series awhile ago and I don't remember disliking it so much. I don't know if it's because of the audio performance or because I didn't notice how bad it was. The FMC SUCKS!! She is so pathetic and weak. Whines and cries about everything and has zero backbone. She is honestly worthless and it brings down the series. No way someone who grew up like her and with her background would be so spineless. Her brain must be damaged too because she is so goddamn slow it is pure torture. Her inner dialogue is ridiculous. What a poor wittle baby, jc, I just cant. I just started the third book and I almost dont even want to finish because its so terrible.
The audio performance just makes it worse. Though the females voice matches because shes so nasally and whiny. Any emotional parts are so over exaggerated and dramatic and BAD. The mens voices are almost the same. It hurts my ears and is so comical when it shouldnt be.
Ugh I'm still listening because I paid for it but Willow is so freaking annoying, it's literally killing me. She constantly has wobbly legs and bile coming up her throat and has to bite her tongue for some snarky remarks, Im sure. She is sooooo goddamn pitiful. No way would these hard men be into someone like her. But then again, they suck just as much as her, they are so lame. They just dont drive me up the freaking wall like she does. Seriously, she is one of the dumbest and worst 'strong' FMC I've had the displeasure of reading about. Again I thought I liked this series when I read it but the audible just destroys this story. This os why I REFUSE to listen to any of my favorite series on audible now.

Had so much potential..
Revisado: 04-24-25
but it was done so badly. What the hell even was this? Its like a teenager wrote a fantasy of her high school crushes in her diary. I honestly don't even know where to start. It was beyond instalove. Literally after knowing the guys after 1 or 2 days, shes in deep love and had sex with them out of nowhere. I've read one night stand stories with more magic than this nonsense. There was almost no buildup into their relationships at all. There was no chemistry whatsoever, except the 20 times she thought about her 'attraction' to them and their 'pheromones' as if to explain how she was so in love with them. Instead of writing all that down over and over, things to build their attraction couldve been written to give some actual weight to their budding relationships.
I like my fair share of spice and all the tropes this book had, but its like someone purposely tried to do them in the cheesiest way possible. The writing was rushed and so was the storyline. The spice scenes were too.... just.. no. If i had an experience like that with someone, it would be my last with them. At least they were well acquainted with ghosts. They crammed everything happening into less than a weeks time. Her smart ass attitude lasted all of 2 seconds and then she lost all of her snarky personality. Not an intelligent quip in sight. The banter between the main characters did absolutely zilch.
FMC was super weak and pathetic, waiting for her 18th birthday so the boys would stop treating her like a kid. But of course the second she's 'legal' then she sleeps with everyone. Was that supposed to be the build up? Just eww.. Yeah what a grown up. She became the textbook definition of a simp but she's sooo quirky which explains their undying love, so its fine... don't read too much into it. In fact, dont read this at all, you're welcome. I promise you'll miss nothing except a waste of time if you skip right on by this one. I really wish this was written better because the plot seemed like a solid one. Its probably good they were near teenage years because if this was written in an actual YA range it wouldve been so much worse. This was such a pitiful attempt and I'm almost angry honestly. I wont be continuing the series

The ruthless mafia king is no stranger to violence, but when he lays his eyes on my bruised and battered face, he's furious. I thought my makeup was thick enough to cover the beating I suffered until my inappropriately flirtatious boss noticed. As a cocktail waitress in his casino, I've always been on Mr. Salvato's radar, but now he's obsessed, demanding to know who hurt me and why, intent on making them suffer.

FMC is sort of pious and self righteous. I get it in the beginning. She starts to get super annoying as the story goes on though and it gets old. Seriously I don't even get the point of her attitude, it's honestly ridiculous and ruins the story. Her mental gymnastics is exhausting to listen to. The way she justifies her choices is just so boring.

Historia
Sometimes you meet someone - maybe meet isn't the right word. You don't even have say hello for this to happen. You simply pass by them, and everything in your world changes forever. Chills flow all the way from the crook in your neck where you imagine he'd kiss you, all the way down, with only a single glance. I know you know what I'm referring to. The moment when something inside of you ignites to life, recognizing their other half that's been gone for far too long. It burns hot, destroying any hope that it's only a coincidence, and that life will go back to what it was.

Decent story idea
Revisado: 04-20-25
but the first book and I already dislike her. God I know sadness does mental damage to people but the FMC is stupid lol. Shes so caught up in her pain she does one dumb thing after another and its moronic. Her 'big' moments are so pathetic. She thinks shes hot shit and will get her retribution but she over reacts without thought or a plan over and over. Honestly even the little things she does is so pitiful, like she has no plan even for the next minute. Ridiculous and its for the whole damn book. Just saying she is an idiot does do her character justice. She's.... not smart at all even if she has sarcastic remarks, big whoop. Why would anyone like her? because of her looks? Ffs. Sort of pissed I spent money on this.
Starting right off into the second book shes still dumb and weak. I'm so close to not finishing the series. She really bothers me and her character just plain sucks. Shes so wrapped up in being a 'strong' women but she barely does anything considered strong and acts a fool. She's a scared little girl. The ending is a perfect example of this. By the end she is STILL reacting without any thought which gets her into trouble of course. I mean she goes on for two whole books talking about what a bad person the MMC is but is so taken off gaurd when she sees his clothes covered in blood. What exactly did she expect? Is she seriously that dumb?
Going into the third book, she is still so freaking dumb and i think im just over it at this point. Jfc

I have no problems with all the TW. Love a dark romance and spice. Narration was alright except for the FMC, it made me dislike her more but i guess it fit with her stupid personality. The FMC ruined the story for me. She is so freaking annoying and dumb. I couldn't finish the story because of her. I feel like to story wouldve still worked if she wasnt written as such a weak and shitty character.

I'm back and forth on this book
Revisado: 04-19-25
I thought I would totally hate the FMC at the beginning but she was hilarious and held her own.. for a little while. Her personality wasn't horrible for most of the book. But then the last third of the book I started to dislike her again. We get it, she was sheltered and naive but its like she continued to be stupid and naive. She doesn't really have that much character growth and that bothers me. Its so annoying because she was literally told multiple things for different aspects of the plot but then she is constantly like 'oh yeah... that.' 'Oh yeah... this' 'I forgot,' it just starts to become tedious. Again I wish she could've adapted to her changing world a little more. It couldve been written that way without her losing her character completely and it would've worked. She didn't have to be hair brained from beginning to absolute end. Her easily distracted attention also annoyed me a bit. There were more than enough times where she was focused on the wrong things for the moment.
So many issues she had could've been avoided if she actually communicated a bit. She made plans, plans. on top of plans for the whole book but everytime they came to fruition she was so surprised at the outcome because she never 'really' thought ahead to everything. Its like she thought things would just happen without a way to actually get there. Her childlike mentality was a little much for me to fully like her character completely. The ending was also a bit disaapointing to me as well. Asbeth still never stood up for herself. She constantly got treated as a foolish child because she would not stop acting like one.

Could be SOO much better
Revisado: 04-15-25
if the FMC wasnt so annoying. Honestly she is so dumb. I get it, it might be hard to put things together if wierd and unbelievable things were happening but she could at least act intelligent. Fake it til you make it, right? She puts things together way later than is acceptable and still shes like 'Oh, cool halloween costume.' Give me a break. The whole premise is she is running/ hiding from someone but she has absolutely no survival/ observation skills whatsoever. She trusts people immediately even though her supposed inner dialogue says otherwise. Her aching naivety and complete ignorance to nearly everything around her does not help one bit. Its torture. How did she even survive to this point, seriously? She gets so upset that one dude calls her 'kid' but she acts like one 100%. I mean no adult is that inept. Her character and personality bother me to no end for the whole damn book. I dont know if I'll continue the series. The MMCs are alright but in NO world would men like them be so taken by a silly little girl like her unless they were forced. There shouldve also been a female narrator.
Edit: Ugh this girl is so f**cking stupid. Shes the type of girl that hears 'Oh bless your heart' her whole life. She has literal brain damage. I almost dont want to finish the book because shes the freaking worst. She is so childlike that the sexual nature of their relationships makes me uncomfortable, and i love spice. To bad because it could've been such a great book. What a waste...

good story but some stuff was annoying
Revisado: 04-12-25
The sound effects were sort of annoying like a lot of people said. I didn't like it anyways but it was so inconsistent and random that it made it worse. Nothing for chapters then a random car door slamming, then nothing for another few chapters. The narration was ok. I don't hate the female narrator but everytime I listen to a book she narrates it gets on my nerves and I usually like the characters less than I should. I actually try to avoid some of her books because it grates on me. Her narration has a wierd over emphasis on almost every other word throughout her sentences especially during the non verbal parts. Her charactet's verbal narration is different and not as bad. I wish she would just speak in a regular voice. Imagine if someone spoke like that normally, I would bash my head into a wall.
Also the FMC was sort of aggravating. Ignoring all her trauma and the way she dealed, her personality came off a little self-centered and entitled. I just didnt like her that much, her attitude came off gross. And she sure judges others a lot for being someone who acts worse tbh. Also for someone who is accused of murder by different parties she sure doesnt seem to try very hard to mitigate those theories. In fact it seems like she purposely does and says things that further verify those accusations. I mean the reader knows the truth but just because a character is strong or snarky or special doesnt meant they need to be stupid.
The plotline was sort of weak as well. The timeline of events and things happening were all one bad/ dumb decision after another becuase shes a silly little girl. I'm not trying to victim blame but her first traumatic even happens because she decides to go home with her BEST friend's ex who she was abused by. She knew all this and decided to anyways. They didnt even take her and that somewhat gave me the ick for her character right at the beginning. What happened definetly wasn't her fault but it was unreal how her dumb ideas and decisions constantly put her in precarious situations. I'm kind of pissed i spent money on this, i just wish the FMC was better or smarter at the very least. It wouldnt have hurt the story in any way is if she had a little more brain. And idk why they had to mention Adhd like it was an excuse for some of her actions. Kind of low.

Revisado: 04-11-25
Wouldve been a good story if it wasnt written so badly. On top of that, the narration was the freaking worst. Why couldnt the narrator just read her in her normal voice? Why was it valley girl? The FMC was terrible. She was honestly so stupid it made me legitimately angry. I almost bought the full series set but the first book was free. I'm so glad I listened to the first one and saved my money. FMC was dumb, klutzy, and just plain silly. Supposedly it was her being 'cute' and 'quirky.' It just made her out to be pitiful and weak. Her snarky retorts and thought processing skills were pathetic. By the end I wanted them to off her and for Rock to find an actual mate he deserved. F**king infuriating child. No thanks. 👎

It started off strong
Revisado: 04-09-25
the first half of the book was good and the plot was original and interesting. Halfway through though, it just gets.... not as good i guess. The FMC becomes kind of stupid and everything around the main storyline just becomes weak. I dont know what it is exactly but the story becomes lame and unconvincing as far as characters personalities and events used to fill pages. Kind of what it comes off as. Just filling the pages. Her character becomes airheaded and childish and frankly its annoying and weak trait for her to have in this world with her history. She pretty much just has a blase attitude about everything because of her 'gut' feeling so she continues to do idiotic things. She becomes really pathetic honestly and I'm close to putting this on my dnf list.
