This is the 2nd book in the Savage Crew Series. Although it is set in High School, it is meant for 18+ readers.

One of the things that this author is not afraid to do is make up uncomfortable in a provoking manner. I found myself honestly questioning if Asher (or Sebastian in the previous book) was redeemable.

The female leads in all of Ms. Wolf’s books are unique and diverse. Bex does not disappoint. The guilt she shoulders is overwhelming, and the way her and Asher’s journey manifests in done in a manner that is relatable.

I am very much looking forward to the 3rd installment of this series, especially since we have seen glimpses into Gabe’s depth. I have read several of Ms. Wolf’s rockstar books, all of which are excellent. I highly recommend Built to Fail.

The Narrators of this book do a really good job, expressing the characters in a way that is true to the characters.

I love this author’s books. Her characters are not stereotypical. She has a way of making unlikable characters likeable, like the titular A$$hole.

Tentacle-y Goodness, or em, Badness??

This is the 3rd book I have read/listened to that was written by this author. I have very much each enjoyed of these books. Ms. Lark can accomplish a lot of character development quickly in her stories. You have a sense of understanding the characters, and their journeys’ easily. The narration was solid! I really enjoyed this narrator. In this book, I found the flow the story very easy and natural. It did not seem forced. The female lead was very interesting to me, as the reasons she was doubting herself did not have to do with her appearance (which I find to be far too common in books). I absolutely loved the male lead. First, I loved that it was not a standard type of shifter. It was also delightful that the author paid homage to the mythology of the kraken and them bringing down ships filled with treasure. The spicy scenes were a good level of spice, while also being fun and creative. I really liked the way she can infuse humor in her characters without it being slapstick. There was also a good balance of intrigue within the book. I very much look forward to more books from her, particularly within this universe.

Another Huge Winner

This book is amongst my favorites by this author. I am a huge fan of Stephanie Brothers' books. It is not often I actually want to slap an book character, but Bethany's Mom deserves a good talking too. I found both her, and the men's father to be grating as all get out. But that was the point. They were not likable people, and I am very much enjoyed Bethany's journey to understanding to coming to terms with that. I also like the combination of fast build and slow build with the male leads. It seemed natural and not forced. The narration by Megahn Kelly was very solid. Good tone and inflection. Recommended. The entire Huge series is great!

Another Solid Story by Stephanie Brothers

Great Narration What I enjoyed about this book was that there was an established history between the characters. That the attraction and emotions had serious depth. I also really enjoyed the FMC’s journey in terms of her career and where she wanted to be and for what reasons. I enjoyed the book. I certainly plan on continuing to read her new releases as I quite enjoy her slightly taboo subject matter.
