Sweet story

While Lydia was not my favorite character, nor do I believe she was meant to be, this story will leave you feeling fondly for Dear Lydia. The story was sweet and well written; the cast was marvelous.

I’m eager to begin the next series and hear all of Prudence’s adventures. I thoroughly enjoyed the Parasol Protectorate! I highly recommend it. Just enough mystery, lots of humor and unexpected surprises.

Short & Sweet

Let me address the complaints about the accents first, it wasn’t awful but it wasn’t Irish. That said, technically all the accents are wrong since this takes place in Australia. I just wanted to get that out. This was an easy story to follow along , I think I liked it better because I had already listened to Rake’s Redemption and was able to see where everything fit in. It is short so I did not use my credits to purchase since the book was only $5.

Good book / Not so good narrator

The story held my attention but it took a lot of stops and starts as the narrator breaks up the sentences so often. She is reading, not narrating. Her “style” is too broken and doesn’t sound natural and it was distracting.
