Historia
A New York Times best-selling author and multiple Bram Stoker Award winner, Marvel Comics writer Jonathan Maberry continues the story he began in Rot and Ruin. Six months have passed since Benny Imura and Nix Riley learned that flesh-eating zombies aren’t the scariest or most dangerous monsters around. Now, Benny’s brother Tom is training them in the art of zombie whacking. But as they plan to leave and find a better future, a zombie attack puts a crimp in their plans.

Different zombie story
Revisado: 07-23-24
I liked that the story focused more on living than dying. It shows that good people can triumph over adversity if they care about others and stick together out of love as opposed to necessity

Historia
After a tragic accident at work, all Grady Miller wanted was an escape. He finds it months later with two of his closest friends. Together, the three of them travel south to Prism Lake for the upcoming holiday, where they plan on spending the sunny weekend drinking, grilling, and relaxing. But when a series of monstrous blizzards cover the Eastern United States in feet of snow, knocking out communications and making the roads impossible to drive on, they realize their weekend of fun could turn into a lifetime of survival.

Historia
Bishop is trapped deep inside Montana's Apex Valley along with his injured wife, a shotgun-wielding stranger named Colbrick, and a sneaking suspicion he's never making it back to Chicago. Things no man has seen before haunt the woods. Strange animal species creep behind pine trees, some of them with flashing red tags that blink faster and faster. Giant birds mimic the sound of humans and lord over the sky. Leaf-shaped creatures attack anything that moves and flash vivid colors across their glistening backs.

Too fantastical
Revisado: 05-13-24
The characters faced certain death numerous times. Too much crying. Not sure of reason behind 'supernatural' events. Too many unanswered questions. storyline not bad, creatures imaginative and the reader's voice was enough to make the story worth listening to

Historia
Suburbia. Shady, tree-lined streets; well-tended lawns; and cozy homes. A nice, quiet place to grow up. Unless you are teenage Meg or her crippled sister, Susan. On a dead-end street, in the dark, damp basement of the Chandler house, Meg and Susan are left captive to the savage whims and rages of a distant aunt who is rapidly descending into madness. It is a madness that infects all three of her sons and finally the entire neighborhood. Only one troubled boy stands hesitantly between Meg and Susan and their cruel, torturous deaths.

Trigger Alert

I really struggled to read this to the end. Not because it was bad, but because it felt too real, and I needed time to compose myself. I cried a lot for almost everyone involved, but mostly for the poor, precious girl next door

Well worth the read
Revisado: 01-28-23
If you like plot twists and turns then this is a great read. The story got a little convoluted, maybe too many lucky breaks, but overall I was hooked on the story and looking forward to reading and listening to more North Michigan Hospital books

Historia
Stephen Smith is the boy who did not exist. Born out of wedlock in the early 1960s, Steve's parents - both devout Catholics - had felt so 'shamed' by their son's illegitimate birth that they hid him away from the world by locking him in the cellar...for 13 years. Apart from a few admissions to hospital as a result of his 'imprisonment', Steve remained in the coal cellar of the family home where he was deprived of daylight, his childhood, school and human contact until he'd reached his teenage years.

I am completely awed
Revisado: 08-04-22
I am not a big fan of true stories; in fact my genre is horror. But I have never read a story more horrifying. I haven't heard about the tragic beginning of Steven Smith's life, but now I want to know everything. I don't believe that there is a more inspiring story ever written. Should be required reading for every child so that each and every child that needs to hear it can believe there is a way forward regardless of personal struggles in their own childhood.

Amazing series
Revisado: 08-20-21
i cannot stop listening to these books! I have listened to 7 in less than 3 weeks and can't wait to get started on 8. The story is at times funny, emotional, terrifying, heartbreaking and endearing at the same time. I start each book with excitement and trepidation over what is to come. I am emotionally vested in each character and have shed many tears of laughter and sorrow
