Historia
Jason Bourne, international assassin of deadly repute, was an identity assumed by covert agent David Webb. Retired from the CIA and now a professor at Georgetown University, Webb's life is finally his own. His newfound calm is shattered when he becomes the target of an assassin and is framed for the murder of his two closest associates—the only ones who knew the full truth about Bourne. Fighting for his life against unseen assailants, the Bourne identity asserts itself and Jason Bourne is once again in control.

Abridged version is excellent
Revisado: 08-02-04
I accidentally bought the abridged version of this book instead of the unabridged one, but am not disappointed. The story is excellent, and while I don't think it does read like a Ludlum book (even though it IS abridged), it is very good. Lustbader included the perfect amount of action, politics, and emotion to the book. And in the end, Scott Brick does a fantastic narration and keeps you glued to what's happening.
If you enjoyed the previous Bourne books, this one is a must. If you haven't read the previous Bourne books, then beware: the movie is COMPLETELY different from the books, and there will be many confusing elements. I suggest you read the previous books, or at least have someone explain them to you before getting this one. Enjoy!

Good book
Revisado: 07-25-04
This is a really good audiobook, but I recommend that you take no more than a weekend to finish it. Now that I finished this book, I have to get the next one in the series. It's that good.

What she uncovers sends shock waves through the corridors of power. The NSA is being held hostage…not by guns or bombs but by a code so complex that if released would cripple U.S. intelligence. Caught in an accelerating tempest of secrecy and lies, Fletcher battles to save the agency she believes in.

Keeps you on the edge of your seat
Revisado: 07-21-04
This audiobook is very immersing and, as the title says, the last few hours will keep you on the edge of your seat. Since the entire book occurs during only a few hours, you realize that you have to finish this book soon (I'd say a couple of days, no more than a week).
However, there is one flaw, and that is with Dan Brown's writing style. This book is his first, and it shows. There are unnecessary allusions to sex spread throughout. His style is immersive, but the adolescence is unmistakable. Glad to see he's grown as a writer in his later books.
Paul Michael does a fantastic job narrating this book, as he does with all others. Every character's voice is instantly recognizable.

Thrilling and action packed
Revisado: 07-14-04
Ludlum has woven a fine thriller that just made it to the top of my favorite listens. The covert operations and spy sequences in this audiobook were phenomenal, and kept me itching for more. Every time I thought that I knew what was going to happen next, I was proven wrong. As a story alone this book is great, but there's more. Paul Michael does a fantastic job of narrating this book while keeping the separate characters in check. Each voice is distinct, and it really helps ease into Ludlum's style. I like this book better than the Bourne series, and that is a compliment. Get it.

Addicting
Revisado: 06-14-04
This audiobook is absolutely great. The story did a great job of pulling me into it. After listening to this book, I got some friends and family to read it as well, and all of them loved it. If you are hesitant to read this book because of the controversial topics within, then realize that it is only a novel. Take it for what it is and enjoy yourself. I did.

Read this
Revisado: 06-14-04
You can see Dan Brown's progression as an author with each of his books, and if you liked the Da Vinci Code, then chances are great that you will like this one as well. This book is not quite up to the same level as DVC, but is also a 'page turner' (so to speak). A fantastic listen.

Excellent
Revisado: 06-14-04
Excellent story with great narration. Could not stop listening. Dan Brown has a gift for creating immersing stories, and this book does not let down. However, about three or four times the volume dipped and twice there is a 15-30 second break between narration. The abridged version gets the story done, but I would suggest going with the unabridged for 2 reasons: (1) The volume dips and long breaks can take you away from the story, and (2) The story is so good you will want to hear every detail that isn't included in this version.

Enthralling
Revisado: 06-09-04
Simply put, this book is fantastic. Even though the scientific parts (and they are long when existent) are best taken in short doses, the rest is very immersive and I have gone for hours upon hours without being able to stop listening. With a healthy dose of science, politics, and anthropology, this book is a great listen. Very highly recommended.

Revisado: 06-09-04
I don't know whether or not the information in this book is good because I could never stay awake to listen to it. The narrator talks....so....incredibly....and....disturbingly....slow! And then he has the most annoying laugh to boot. I stopped listening to this book in the car after the first ten minutes because it made me so sleepy that I almost got into an accident. It took me about three sessions after that to listen to the rest of the first hour after which I just gave up. Not worth the listen. If you are intrigued by the concept of this book, just buy the book. The audio version is worthless.
